armageddon818
Well, I am back with fewer problems than before, so that is good! For those of you who haven't seen the other lots of posts about my issues, (and i doubt you have) i am posting here to finally get ready to do what TriForce is doing, building a town. themed of course! Fire is a big thing here (Ignis means fire in Latin). alternate races, and even currency are some of the ideas that i have right now. The alteranate currency is a REALLY tall order, but i think it is do-able. I plan on making an exchange shop so that people can trade their gold for fire gems (with a fee of course, but the exchange rate is good, Gold is worth More, so things you buy with fire gems can be sold to other gold-using vendors for more profit.) and a bank so you can store your gold and or firegems. People who like to be thieves, beware, for the Ignian guards are powerful, and surprising... Also, Crime Crystals can be (well, will be) found throughout the city's shops and wealthy homes. they function similarly to those dark welkynd stones in ayleid ruins, but only when you have a bounty. Still working on the scripts for those, as Vagrant0's didnt exactly work. Portals are installed in the shops and castle, needing a key (which the guards have) to respond instantly to crime. Also, i am trying to make this fun for both magic and thief players, so please give me some ideas on possible magic. I am a pretty bad scripter, so if there are any fire-related magics that are cool, please let me know. Right now, my main issues are the crime crystals and the alternate currency. both of course involve scripting but the alternate currency moreso. whereas the crystals only need some minor tweaking. Let me know if you are interested in helping in any way, any ideas comments, etc. And most importantly, TALK IT UP! Did i neglect to mention that it is in a volcano? If anyone is a good landscape designer, who wants to take this part over, inside and outside representation, by all means go right ahead. right now, i am testing ideas and people inside the test cathedral. The guard tests are kind of funny. And, if you have read other posts, i am still doing Glacia as well (Ice town) but i need to focus on one or the other right now, and whichever one i get the most feedback on, i will. similar ideas, just arch enemies! DarkWarrior45
Hmmm.... This is an interesting concept, and it deserves to be taken to the next level of development, the actual design phase. In a quote from another post I made on the Bethsoft forums: As far as the concept of this mod goes, you have a very excellent start in designing this mod. The next step in designing this mod is to take it to the next level of detail; start drawing out floor plans for the town, start developing the characters (actually give them a name and a history), start drawing out in detail how the player will interact with different npc's within the mod. If you're doing custom models, then grab a concept artist and have them draw up a couple of pieces. Once you have a solid idea on how things will work out, then start putting stuff together in the CS. When you're ready to relz, or when you need to recruit modders, you need to define your mod to appeal to modders/gamers. Include screenshots or a video. Hope this helps... armageddon818
OK then, i'll get to drawing some sample floor plans... but beware, i only plan on using paint for this! And as for creating characters and stuff, naming, etc. i am a latin geek, and plan o using a lot of Latin names and words... as for lore, i am not quite certain, but as i said, i would rather have some people behind me before i start, however, you are comepletly correct in suggesting that i should be a little more specific. Thanks for the tips, and i expect to hear back from you at least, when i put up some specific stuff so you can tell me when enough is enough. Thanks again, and spread the word. (BTW, new models would always be nice!)
armageddon818
Basic Heightmap of Ignis: As it is a volcano, and a city, it has high walls, lava for water, and a tiered basis to allow for more houses and shops. the cathedral is on the center island, and will only be able to be accessed, either if you sneak in, for a fare, or if you become a Priest of Ignis. I will try screenshots of what i have right now, and some more easy paint diagrams.

I think it's pretty! the picture quality isnt too great, and i accidentally have the tower selected in one of them... but other than that... pretty good for only 5 hours, for me!
