thiosk2 Posted June 16, 2008 Author Posted June 16, 2008 I KNEW I wasn't the only one with a skull collection. And yeah, your collection wins....for now. I used to line the walls of my telvani castle dungeon with skulls, but it wasn't until oblivion that I made it the prime directive. "Hm, magical enchanted daedric armor.... or 4 skulls. yeah skulls."
Kresselack Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I tend to collect food such as fruit, meats, grains etc. and take them to my castle. The food is stored in the kitchen in seperate containers for each food group. I sell to inns that have a small selection of ingredients. I sell alchemichal ingredients to alchemists only and not inkeepers. I give slain innocent people a respectful burial with flowers(nightshade) I give worthy opponents a decent burial with their armour still on. I place their bodies on an altar of some sort. Their helmet is placed to the side of them. Especially the arena champion. Annoying characters are spread out on an altar is if they were to be sacrificed or thrown into a pit. Any cursed objects or failed mod attemts are thrown into the lava.(think of LoTR) I wear formal clothing and ornate platemail when meeting a noble or count/countess. The helmet is removed indoors. I collect lockpicks and put them in a jewlrey box. Dwarven artifacts are colleted and put on display or stashed. I usually pick up items off of the floor and place them back on the table when I venture into a ransacked house.
Halororor Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Bandits and the like don't deserve my respect. I ussually just take away their armor and turn them over so that they lay face down.
Ruth121 Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Thief characters MUST rob every rich bleeder in the vicinity blind ("Another ring? COME ON! HOW MANY OF THESE DO YOU PEOPLE HAVE!?") Mage characters won't be caught dead waving a sword around (and are often dead during those first lovely minutes of Oblivion because of it). I do the corpse thing (no, not like that): everybody but bandits gets a proper burial (I prefer Redwort, for some reason). And with my main quest/Shivering Isles/Knights char I made a (don't know if this is even necessary, but better safe than sorry) giant huge honkin' shrine for Martin after he dies/turns into Akatosh/whatever the fruit happened. Which is oddly respectful for me, since I spend most of the game gleefully dressing him in various AlienSlof armors/outfits...
jaysus Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 i have no skull collection nor do i burry my foes... well sometimes i give worthy opponents and friends a weapon to go to valhalla with but thats it...what i do instead is jumping... jumping everywhere... maybe a takeover from morrowind where you were actually faster while jumping than running but i even jump through doors... jump and click in midair... dunno why lol.. maybe to save that precious second... im proud to probably be the most skilled jumper in the whole of cyrodile because of it... and it sure helps getting rid of an annoying bear or somin to just jump down a huuuuuuge cliff and watch the bear miss that tiny but important ledge and fall to death muharr...also after the kynareth shrine quest i dont kill natures creations... i rather adore them and dominate them if necessary to avoid a fight... not my fault if they fall down a rock while chasing me...
Sarya Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I have a strange habit to replay the "Detective" quest several times when I reach it, trying different combinations of murders, watching the survivors' reactions, trying who suspects who and who in the last couple will kill another.
helzi Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 Well, strangest things I do? I guess this is kind of normal, but I collect gems. Lots of gems. Lovely gems. Then store them in an open chest in my room.Another strange habit is that I love to collect lockpicks. I never use them, but I have a nice big collection of them just lingering in my inventory, then I sell them all at once to make a tidy sum.
princesshelzi Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 I spend ages outside the town, picking blackberries, apples and various fruits, then return to my house and mix them. I have a huge collection of "Blackberry and Apple Juice" and "Apple and Watermelon Juice". Not only that, but when I get bored taking my dog (mod) for walks and picking fruit all day, I go to my house, get some bread, dog food and juice and ride my horse to the Imperial City. There really is no reason why, apart from the fact that I love going on "holiday" in games. I always return with some new clothes and shoes. And more fruit.
jaysus Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 as to holidays i have a similiar trait... when i leave a cave after finishing a quest i often have no clue what to do (inventory still empty so no need for a trip home, feeling good, etc)... so i just run or ride straight ahead through cyrodile till i find somin worthwhile lol well its not a real holiday but somin like taking a hike... then staying at a campsite for a few days and getting a lvl while chillin there... theres a nice camp north of blackmarsh with a wonderful grove like surrounding next to a lil lake... beautiful... and you can bring your favourite companion too... the girls love it i tell you... and if you get some skooma in bravil upfront you always have the means for even more fun together hehe i also used to collect ingredients like crazy but after doing the skingrad, grape and flower run a few times it just bugged me... i of course still do it but its just sooo annoying...
Sojiro Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Lessee... I follow random NPCs around (sneaking, of course) to see what they do during their day-to-day lives. I can spot a chest from a mile away; empty chests (and dead bodies) act as my 'breadcrumbs' in various confusing ruins. I cut down anyone who gets in the way while I'm attacking. Even if they live afterward to run away, I chase them and give them a sword to the brain. I straighten up dead bodies, putting their hands by their sides and setting their legs straight. If a corpse is on a small platform and a limb is hanging off, I put the limb back. I (sometimes) try putting skeletons back together after I defeat them. I don't use my horse (Shadowmare) to travel, instead, I drink some Skooma, cast an invisibility spell and run all the way to my next destination. If I don't have Skooma, I just run (Athletics and Speed are about 100, anyway) I'm a angel with that 60 second invisibility spell. I just love coming out of nowhere and power-stabbing the nearest enemy, then going invisible again. I stare at the stars. I don't like doing Alchemy. I'm a sucker for sniper attacks, so I keep a bow on me and I have 20 arrows, but I never, EVER use them. I only use arrows that I pick up within a dungeon and then drop them when I exit. Lonely guard in the middle of the road far away from any town = my next target.
