FOSE Does not work in Windows 7 64-bit?

And judging by what you said, Windows was pre-installed on the machine (meaning you bought a new PC with Windows already installed). In case you still don't know, the first thing to do when you buy a computer like that and bring it home is to purge the hard drive and reinstall the OS, most of pre-installed OS' (be it Windows/Linux/Mac) are full of crapware and/or installed badly, usually both.

Precisely the point, I agree and that w s on my mind too.

reinstaling done user32 and kernel are here but fose is still not working (patch 1.7 1.1 language patch some mods and fomm ) aaaaaand nothnig i still have "an unknown version of fallout 3 blah blah blah"

Ok, slow down a bit. get / download the cff explorer data, it's the 2 or 3 gigabyte enabler software, when its in stalled, configure it to show on your systems rightclick menu. open the fallout3.ese with cff and read the version data. IF that still says 1.1.0.2, then the patch is being prevented from doing whats it's designed to do and windows is not allowing the patched version to run.

You will need to uninstall Fallout 3 and reinstall it in a location on your hard drive other than "Program Files". The User Account Control (UAC) will interfer with anything that changes the Fallout 3 files, especially FOSE.

That is correct, only this system he has, and the image software on the hard-drive still Embeds the crap-ware. you will need to get anti crap-ware removing software , free stuff and get rid of the spyware, I see here a mess, it's not going to stop until you remove the bloat that came with that machines software. Uphill battle all the way. OR download the fake steam patch made by Justinother, search term on the nexus file side is "Fake", you will find only 3 items as a result. that has in it the correct version fose will recognize, but this does not fix the other problems you still have on that PC. I really feel for ya. If you get fed up with all of this too much, Go to office max and BY a a new version on DVD/cd of the OS and just plain use that to wipe that hard-drive, image software-an all, get rid of the push ware, you can recover all you have online from the company.

You can get the Windows image off the Microsoft site if you have the activation key (I think so, I believe did it once), buying a new DVD of an OS you already own is like setting the money on fire (I mean really, paying 150$ for something you already have).

The crapware on pre-installed machines is not delivered with the DVD but is installed after the OS already installs. The install image is clean. Well, "techically" clean, Windows delivers some crapware by itself, no matter which DVD you get (from the store, from the Microsoft site, along with the comp, etc.)

If you really need to clean the comp of crap, run a crap-cleaning program, clean the OS as best as you can, scorch the rest with a Linux live distro, reboot, update, disable auto-update and block auto-update with a firewall. That oughta definitely do it.

By the way, prettty much every OS by itself IS crapware. Like Linux, as much as Linux fanboys like them, those things tend to be whole collections of crap with a hint of something useful, they just have different logos (except Debian Standard, that thing is a server OS and squeaky clean).

And as M48A5 said, Fallout needs to be out of the Program Files (x86) folder, install it in C:\Games or D:\Games or wherever the UAC (one of the things I hate the most) can't get it, just don't install it in the Program Files. Also, install a plain English game, don't fiddle around with local versons and install it as clean English, you'll save yourself from headaches later on.

Well that was quick, reinstalling Windows usually takes up about an hour to me.

1.1 language patch

Gotta say, this is an interesting part. Can you reinstall the game without chech localization (just english) and run it that way? If I recall correctly, localization changes some aspects of Fallout 3 executable and may be the reason why you have problems with FOSE recognizing your game. It's better to run a plain english game anyway, that way you don't get a language mixup when you download a mod that changes cells.

By the way, I don't think having a 64-bit OS has to do anything with FOSE problems, I used to run FO3 with FOSE on both Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and Windows XP Professional x86 and never had a single problem with it on either.

well i dont have english version of the game (ofcourse i can download it from pirate bay but then i would need fully functioan crack , it would take ages to download and it could crash like crazy) and again same configuration of the game worket fine for more that 3 years on XP also my PC was not preinstaled - i had to instal the windows by myself

but i also instaled 1.1 laguage patch that fixed some crashes related to czech version

that's gotta be it, I wonder if that only patches the1.1.02 version of the game, reverses the 1.7 patch so, when he runs fose? no go. because it's returned back to the retail version, which fose will not load. 1.1 is not 1.7 and 1.1 was installed afterward too. I have not seen that version language patch, nor have I read any data on beth about it, there could be the answer. the rest of that post, i'll refrain from addressing.

on windows XP, this system you said now is windows 7, is that not so? windows 7 is an Entirely new animal, it's not XP.

Grab this software and install it, then go to the exe of the game , right-click that exe and select open with, cff explorer, take a screen shot of the same as you see here and post that, this will solve any further misunderstandings.

ok, I can say good luck solving this problem, as it takes two sides to solve it, your system "was" missing software

which should not be the case, you will not cooperate with a simple ID of the file of Our choice, you now think we are not trust worthy enough to help you. kinda draws a line in the sand, a stale mate for your issue. Fose is not a required game file, it's an add on addition for files script extension because the geck and the engine can't understand new languages brought in by programers doing things outside the Envelope of the games scope. the game runs fine as you say. you want help, it takes both sides, information is whats needed, you can't provide it or refuse too, we can't help you.

the nexus has that same program and it's not 50 commander programs, if it were sir ,that individual would not be allowed to post said software links, that kink I sent you is the source for that program EVERY one here uses.

My apologies for trying.

Alright then, post the content of your fose_loader.log after you run FOSE (and it fails). It's in the same folder fose_loader.exe is. And please, use the following code to post it so we can read it more easily:

50470844efb98ea8ebbd1b28e517f2af

Here's my log as an example:

launching: Fallout3.exe (Z:\home\werne\.PlayOnLinux\wineprefix\Fallout3\drive_c\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Fallout3.exe)
crc = FE5B82AE
hook call addr = 00C05F61
load lib addr = 00D9B0F0
dll = Z:\home\werne\.PlayOnLinux\wineprefix\Fallout3\drive_c\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\fose_1_7.dll
remote memory = 00340000
old winmain = 006EE300
launching

It will say why FOSE failed there and then maybe we can figure out how to make it work.
