Crashing to Desktop

so on my current character I recently got into the mage college unfortunately I can't advance in the college because on the first quest where you go into the tomb when I go to enter it the game crashs, I don't know what's causing this, I have mods, but none that edit textures or draugrs or anything I can think of that's causing this. it only seems to be happening here and occasionally when I exit whiterun but that's easily worked around

First I'd suggest to do a "verify integrity" check to see if you have any missing or corrupted files with your game's installation;

Steam > Library > right-click on Skyrim > Properties > Local Files > verify integrity of game cache. Be patient while it does a check, and if it finds any missing or corrupted files it should re-download replacement files for you.

 

If you're still having troubles, then I might suggest to try one-by-one, un-checking mods you may be using to rule-out if it's a mod that is the cause of the problems.

 

If not, then you might consider adjusting some of your game's graphic settings, perhaps try Medium or lower for some settings.
