roboroller
With the release of the 1.5 Beta Patch I thought I'd fire up Skyrim and start a new game. I used the Perk Up mod all through my last playthrough and had no problems with it. With the new patch though I noticed that my smithing levels like crazy. My smithing jumped 14 levels making a single iron dagger and I leveled up about four times! When I disabled the Perk Up smithing.esp though everything returned to normal. I downloaded Lorecraft and the optional .esp that makes changes to the smithing perks and the same thing happened with that mod! I think 1.5 rejiggers some stuff do with smithing so I guess this isn't surprising, but I was wondering if anyone else was having similar problems and if they had found a workaround. Luckily Perk Up is modular and turning off the smithing changes solves the problem (no other skills seem to be effected) but it's still pretty irritating. roboroller
Yeah, I'll probably just roll on back until the official version is out. The arrow kill cams sure are nifty though. I am using SKSE for 1.5 though, it has been released, so I dunno, but even still...you're probably right. roboroller
Oddly enough though, I've been playing with 1.5 for about 20 hours or so and that's the only thing that's given me any trouble. Of course, there could be other things that are screwy that I haven't noticed yet, but that's the only thing that's been glaringly obvious. roboroller
It seems that rolling back to the previous version makes all of your saves incompatible. I really don't want to have to start a brand new game. :-(
BigKevSexyMan
Well, in the patch notes, it says that it makes smithing level based on the value of the item. So people can't make a thousand iron daggars to level it up. I guess the mod and the patch have a resource conflict.
