tiddlyoggy
Hi Guys First post from someone new to modding so be gentle. I wanted to clean up my Mod files so followed the instructions and downloaded TES5Edit but keep getting the following message Fatal: Could not open registry keys: \ SOFTWARE \ Bethesda Softworks\Skyrim "This can happen after Steam updates , run game's launcher to restore game's registry settings" I've relaunched Steam several times and it still wont work, can anyone give me some advice on what to do. I've attached screen shots of TES5Edit and my mods if that's any help Thanks in advance
Shabdez
TES5EDIT is looking for the key for Skyrim (Odlrim). If you are using Skyrim Special Edition, the registry key doesn't match. Did you choose the right game? For SE you need SSEEdit: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/
thumbincubation
Also, when it says run game's launcher, it means hit play and let the splash screen, where it chooses your graphics settings, come up. I get that if I delete my skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini, and try to run SSEedit, without letting the launcher run. You don't have to actually start the game, just make sure that screen runs and does whatever it needs to do, to your .ini
speedynl
rename the exe to SSEEdit.exe
