Ronin105
I read about a mod that can reduce system requirements and improve performance. I dunno about the reduce-requirements part, but I am really keen on the improving-performance part. (Read here: http://mygaming.co.za/news/pc/27259-how-to-drastically-reduce-skyrims-system-requirements.html) Is the mod still available? Because, the link says it isn't. Any help would be much appreciated. -Ronin
SinderionsBones
Short answer is anything that mod did, it's probably included, and better, in the updated versions of Skyrim. It's way more optimized now than it has ever been. That was posted in November. It gives an example of a 3ghz processor, 2gb ram 512 meg hdd. I got mine running for months on a 256 mb graphics card before I got my new one. So low end I don't think it's supported at all, but I also did it without any sort of low res textures or anything. That would have helped a lot. To my knowledge, nothing is really improving performance beyond what 1.4 does on it's own. The old performance increasing things were related to some bad/unoptimized code that has since been fixed. If you want increased performance, that would imply that you are having performance issues to begin with? Some issues can be addressed directly through easy to modify settings. What issues are you having?
Ronin105
I am not having much in the case of issues. I've got two computers, one here and another at home. Both have the same graphics card, but the one at home has one more gb of ram. Transparency on textures is broken on the one at home ._. (http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/623372-transparency-is-broken/) Apart from that, no issues here. The game is slow, but it's playable. If there's any list of mods or anything to improve performance even more, I'd be really happy ;3 I basically do not want ANY eye candy. Just some graphics that makes the game look decent. I'd play at 40 FPS w/o eyecandy rather than at 20 or 15 FPS with an awesome looking game. Thanks for the help :)
Staind716
If you do a tag search on Nexus there are several performance mods.
