Daethas
Okay, so, I'm running a 64-bit version of Windows 10. Fresh install. I bought it when it first came out. Flipping forward to now, I'm trying to mod my Skyrim (normal edition, not SE) to look the very best it can be. Only, one slight problem.. I'm starting out by downloading and using some ENB's. I've never used an ENB, neither when I used Win7 nor now. Totally new to the concept, and trying it out because I've heard it's a game-changer. However, instead of getting to test out its influence on my game's appearance, the game proceeds to crash right after the Bethesda screen ends, and the actual main screen begins - with the dragon, and whatnot.I absolutely cannot stand how Skyrim looks without, so I'm hoping someone on the forums will be able to shed some light, maybe even help me out. I've already tried installing from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 , and have even copied from my system 32 file the d3d11 and dxgi binaries - i /think/ those're the right names. Still nothing. Edited December 17, 2017 by Daethas
Grospolina
Make sure you're not running anything that creates overlays, like FPS/CPU/GPU meters, Afterburner, Riva Tuner, Nahimic, Razer, anything with "OSD" in the name, etc. Steam overlay is okay. However, crashing right after the logo usually means you have a missing master. In NMM, go to the Plugins tab and look for any mod highlighted red and click it. In MO, go to the Plugins tab and look for any mods with a red warning icon and mouse over it. You could also run LOOT to help you check your load order and sort it. Daethas
No overlays were ever being run, fortunately enough. As for the missing master--well, I'm not quite installing anything through NMM, ENB-wise; just manual installations-- not really seeing any ENBseries-related things pop up in my plugins tab for NMM. Accounts for LOOT, as well; nothing there was related to my ENB's.
Daethas
...hhuh. Okay, okay-- so, I finally got the ENB to work, despite previous attempts coming up fruitless. Thanks very much for the help regardless!
