llloyd
Hello! For the ending I chose to go Independent and, well, at the Battle of Hoover Dam I had to shoot a few NCR, they shot first but still. Now I am a Wild Child. Using CAGE to do what Bethesda should have done, I am still playing after the ending of the main quest (seriously, FO 3 with Broken Steel can play after main quest, Oblivion you can, Skyrim you can, FO 4 you can, just not FO NV. >.< ) so now when I go near NCR they start shooting at me, makes getting around a bit of a pain. How do I reset my rep with them? Doesn't have to be Idolized, can be neutral, just some point where they aren't using me for target practice and I have to waste ammo shooting more of them. >.<
dubiousintent
Easiest is to use the mod "Fallout NV Cheat Terminal Redux" to change this and most things about your character. But you should read "The Vault's" wikipedia article on "Reputation" to understand just what you need to change. -Dubious-
llloyd
Ok, cool, I know the system is weird, last time I used console commands I wasn't having much success. I need to make the infamy 0. *hmm* I'll give it a whirl and hope. I still got some left over timed quests for The Inheritance (The Esther quest line) and I might do the Bison Steve rebuild quest while waiting. Both will be harder if the NCR is taking pot shots at me. >.<
llloyd
Update: Using the Cheat Console I reset Infamy and was marked a Dark Hero, I reset Fame and it set me as Unpredictable. I used the console commands 'player.removereputation 0 50 f43de ' and, to be sure, 'player.setally 1b2a4 a46e7 0 0 " to make the NCR faction friends with the Player faction. Seems to have worked, I walked up to a guard at the Sharecropper and he was neutral toward me.
dubiousintent
Good catch on the "Player faction" relationship. It's often overlooked. But "0" sets the faction to "ally" (the default). "Friend" seems to be a closer relationship. "Faction armor" disguise should work as well; it temporarily sets you to "Neutral" for the disguise faction. Personally, rather than the annoyance of changing armor around I just use the "Faction ID Cards" mod, but I'm all about convenience and enjoyment. -Dubious- Edited December 19, 2017 by dubiousintent
