Size of interior cell

HOW BIG CAN I MAKE AN INTEROR CELL?

I made a mod I was really satisfied with the outcome of, Vlindrel Hall XL.

Yup I modded vlindrel hall the original cell, made it bigger with some smiting gear rooms for mannequins etc...

It was about 89kb,and and think is said about 60 percent of cell (89/150kb) or close to it. Only to find out that it started to CTD when leaving the cell.

Then I tried to find out why, and here on the forum or troubleshooting forum and it was said that the cell was getting to big (someone modding breezhome).

So I believe thats the reason my mod crashed to. And further on experienced modders told them that it was bad to change original cells, deleting stuff like just a wall to make it bigger could cause trouble, not to talk about deleting other stuff.

So I have started making a new mod instead, with both new exterior and interior cells.

And I`ve been looking at original interor cells and it seems that most of them is about 49kb max.

So does anyone have any experience about how big I can make the cell without getting into trouble?

Cause I really want it all in one cell, and the home I`m gonna make is a modest home but I still need more than 49kb...

Sorry about my english it is not my native..

Greetings from Norway......

I know nothing about an upper limit on interior cell size overall. Some dungeons are pretty huge, even single cells of them. I expect your problem is either mod conflicts, or your mod being 'dirty'(a bunch of references you don't need, this happens often whether you mean to change other things or not). Could what they're talking about be how much is rendered at once? Maybe if you put parts of your interior in roombounds? The CTD really is often due to crazy mod conflicts. Make sure it's your mod, then try cleaning it up with something like TESVSnip or something? make sure there is nothing in there referenced outside of what you want to reference (the exterior cell, the interior cell, and it's contents).

I would exhaust every one of these options before thinking about interior cell size limit. I really think that's not a factor here.

oh wait.. are you modding a mod? that sounds fishy to begin with.. that... doesn't work to well if one of them isn't a .esm...

The people that was talking about modding breezehome had tried a lot of troubleshooting and no matter how they changed or redid the whole mod it started to crash when they reached 125kb

At 120 it was fine, but always starting to ctd at a certain point.

I`m not modding a mod but vlindrel hall the original cell.

But I`m most curious about the max recommended size of a interior cell to avoid future problems when I now make a new mod.

But I will also try to make my first mod work.

Thanks for reply and advice.. I will use it to the best of my abilities..
