Battlefield 3 Style Sight

I was playing Battlefield 3 the other night and unlocked the ACOG sight. When brought to the eye of the player it wasn't like looking into a scope, but in NV it is like that. Would there be a modder out there who could make the ACOG sight like a red dot sight.

This image is right from the wiki.

Some mods I've seen had an EOTech sight that worked similar, but it was off centered so the shot went high or low with the "fix".

This one is actually very easy to pull of. Conventional Fallout 3 & NV scoped weaponry use a scope mesh when using aimed. This scope mesh is triggered by a flag in the respective .esm or .esp file. The amount of zoom is controlled by the 'Field of View' (FoV) setting and is in no way related to the previously mentioned scope flag which means that it is possible to create ironsighted weaponry that have the ability to zoom in as far or even further than scoped weaponry.

Unfortunately all Fallout scopes are by default not transparant or even usable as an actual scope. You'll need to find or make yourself a scope model, for example an ACOG which has transparant lenses and visible aimpoints. Remove, if necessary. the original scope of the weapon in Nifskope. Import the new, usable scope and attach it properly to the weapon's model, scale if necessary. All that remains is aligning the sighting node with the center aim of your scope, usually a trial and error operation. Now if you wish to do this with any other weapon you just repeat the process, perhaps an easy but very time consuming process.

NB: Most vanilla Fallout scoped weapons do not contain a sighting node since they rely on the scope mesh as aimpoint. If no sighting node is present you'll need to add one yourself.
