Recently I've been having this issue that my Skyrim crashes to desktop when walking too close to sky haven temple, (I must go there in order to continue the main story).. I have no idea why it does and i just did a clean save a couple hours ago to update mods and still didn't work. Asangard1 Posted April 21, 2012 Share Posted April 21, 2012 I am having the same issue. Every time I get within a certain radius of Sky Haven Temple I crash. I disabled all the mods I was running and even unistalled the game and re-installed it. Still it crashes. I was able to travel through the area before I received the quest "Gain Entrance to Sky Haven Temple". But once I received the quest then the crashes started when approaching Sky Haven Temple. This is the 2nd play through in a row that this has happened to me. I had played through 2 times previously with no problems. The only thing I can think of is by going through the area previously and killing the Forsworn at their camp near the Temple that somehow causes the Crash. I am going to try starting over again and avoid the area completely until I get this quest and see what happens. Although that will take some time to get back to that point in the main quest. Anyone else running the ATI cards? Because I am and I don't remember having this problem before. If anyone can find a link to previous versions of drivers, I'll roll back and tell you all what happens. There's an invisible wall around SHT that keeps you from discovering it before Alduin's Wall. On the right side is a box labled "Helpful Links". There you will see a link to "Previous Drivers and Software". Then you can role back to the 12.1 driver. Make sure you un-install 12.3 first though as yo can't install 12.1 over top of 12.3. I have been using the 12.3 driver myself. Asangard1 Posted April 24, 2012 Share Posted April 24, 2012 @yota71....When Skyrim version 1.5 first went live Dovhakinn Hideout was causing CTDs for me. That problem was fixed when the current version 1.5.26 was released. I ended up disabling every mod I had installed trying to find if this problem was mod related. Even with every mod disabled I was still crashing when I tried entering the Sky Haven Temple area. I do appreciate the idea though. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
fms1 Posted April 24, 2012 Share Posted April 24, 2012 If you had a mod that alters that cell in any way, and then removed it, it may cause something like this. GarglingGlass Posted May 9, 2012 Share Posted May 9, 2012 Hate to bump an old thread, but I'm having this same problem. Game was installed as of yesterday and I'm running 1.5. Only problem I've had thus far is having to add the [Archive] list to the .ini in order to speak to Esbern. I've tried removing it now that that part is done but no difference. Can't fast travel to the sinkhole, so I've tried running there from Rorikstead. CTD every time. Anybody figure this one out yet? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
