skyrim menu wont load with mods installed

ok here is the problem. when i try to load skyrim (regardless of skse or no) with mods, after showing the bethesda logo and switching to the title screen: it stops. all it shows is the imperial insignia and smoke. no options. just background.

this started after the most recent patch.

load order:

[x] skyrim.esm

[x] update.esm

[x] RaceCompatibility.esm

[x] ApachiiHair.esm

[x] ApachiiHair.esp

[x] OrientalRace.esp

[x] KillmoveSetRanger.esp

[x] portal2mod.esp

 

when only skyrim.esm and update.esm are checked, the game loads fine. another issue is that when i close the game when if fails to load (alt+tab, right click, close window) the game continues to run in the background.

can anyone help me fix this?

I don't know if you have the problem anymore, but i had exact same problem. Disable your "KillmoveSetRanger.esp" mod... that is the mod that did same to me... if it doesnt work then disable all mods and see if it's mod's fault
