sangnagamerah
Before y'all say that I should google the term first let me say that I have already done so. 90% of them talk about mods and the rest mention anti-virus. I can't find one for PC that has no mods and has a fix. My setup: I played normal Skyrim years ago (on a different machine) and want to return to the Special Edition. I installed via Steam and have ZERO mods install and NO SKSE. I have tried disabling Windows Defender, but that didn't do any good. I don't have any other Anti-Virus installed. The only 'abnormal' setup option I have is that the game is installed to the A drive and the save files (the user folder) is on the C drive. (A is 2 TB, C is a 256 GB SSD) I have tried uninstalling, deleting the folder, and reinstalling. I have tried running "SkyrimSELauncher.exe" as administrator. I have tried dropping https://rd.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1060 into the "C:\Users\***\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves" folder and reloading (as administrator), but the LOAD option is still grayed out on the home screen. Anyone else have this issue and a potential fix?
sangnagamerah
I ended up deleting the skyrim.ini file and letting it be re-created and it fixed the issue. Not sure what was wrong.
RadicalTeletubby
If you are on Windows 10, go into Windows Defender and turn off "Controlled file access".
