jcgordon10
My problem does not occur indoors, only outdoors. And weirdly, it is most pronounced when facing along the north-south axis.My guns, (multiple guns, most pronounced on rifle or shotgun types) will have a weird, buggy jitter to them. This is different from the sway, as I can see the sway, but also the gun is just vibrating weirdly. I am not using any mods right now, to isolate the problem, and it appears it's a problem with the base game for me. I have completely reinstalled the game fresh, and it still occurs for me. the problem is not the most terrible on vanilla, but as I add mods such as textures or lighting improvements, the jittery shaking becomes more pronounced to the point where it makes the weapon turn half transparent and glitching in and out. Again, the problem isn't mods, those just made the problem more pronounced for me, but the base shaking bug happens for me in just the plain vanilla base game. I want to find out what causes it and if I can fix it, otherwise it makes many good mods unpleasant to use. I understand that not everyone seems to run into this problem, but I have and it's confusing. Here's a recorded video to illustrate the glitchy shaking:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heKHDO5N0m4 Game: Fallout New Vegas - Complete Edition (All DLC) -up to dateLaptop: Acer Aspire V Nitro - Black EditionCPU: Intel i7-4720HQ - 2.60GHz (Quad core, Hyperthreaded)GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M (2 Gb Memory)Screen Resolution: 1920x1080RAM: 16 GbHDD: 2 TbSSD: 250GbOS: Windows 10 Home - up to date - 64bitSteam is installed on C:\Program Files(x86)\ on my main drive, which is a 250Gb SSDNew Vegas is installed in a seperate steam library on my second drive, a 2TB HDDI run the game as administratorTo clarify, I have used NMM before and had been trying to assemble a modded version to play through with, unfortunately my mods were (not breaking) making the glitch far more pronounced and flashy, to the point where it couldn't be ignored and was painful to watch. At this point I have completely gotten rid of all mods, and have reinstalled the game freshly so that it is completely clean. The problem still persists. At this point there are no mods or anything in the mix. Completely Vanilla.
dubiousintent
Ouch. Thanks for the video; it makes the issue more understandable that this is not the "sway" due to injuries or low strength or low "guns" skill. Best description I've seen is that it's like your character has "Parkinson's disease" (hand muscle tremors) when using "Iron Sights". That is not by design. Haven't personally encountered this before, but did find some references to it on the web going back years. While no one has definitely pinned down a cause, it appears to be related to (at least) the vanilla "Iron Sights" animations for certain 2H "no pistol grip" weapons. The mod "Iron Sight Fix" appears (from the accompanying video on that download page) to solve this for:Brush GunCowboy RepeaterHunting RifleTrail CarbineVarmint RifleOther animation replacements, such as "1st Person Weapon Animation Overhaul" by Hitman47101, are more comprehensive in their weapon coverage. (Search the Nexus on the string "animations" for other alternatives.) My only other advice is that with only 2GB of VRAM driving a 1920x1080 display and a 2.6GHz processor, stick with standard resolution (512x512) or no more than 1024x1024 pixel texture replacements. -Dubious- Edited December 22, 2017 by dubiousintent
