yeah I don't get the appeal, I guess it's mod packs, because people that can'take be bothered with researching modding? it's advertised as allowing you to install groups of mods with one click.

personally I wouldn't even want to do that, I like curating and digging into my mod list. I also don't have sympathy for people wanting it to be easier. gamer poets made a really good video about the subject, and that if people can't learn the nuances of installing mods, we won't have a new generation of great mod authors in the future.

Such a great point IMO! And if that happened I really don't know what I'll play since I'm finding more and more that I don't like regular AAA games anymore. Probably will just keep playing Fallout 4/Skyrim and a couple others like TW3/Dark Souls 3.

I agree, but only half

I understand that mod users would like modding to be easier and more accessible, and perhaps even download entire game overhauls with a click of a button

But at the same time, I also think that with modding a game, there should come the understanding that a lot of mods do things that the game wasnt necessarily designed to do

Its like taking a device and making it do something it wasnt made for

With doing that, one should understand that there is a chance that said device could break due to the manner you operated it other than what it was designed for

And if you break it and cant fix it, thats your own responsibility, not the responsibility of whoever designed the device

In shorter words, dont mod your game if you cant fix it when you break it

That's certainly true. At least this thing will probably be a fad as people will break their games and get no support, probably then they'd show up here most likely. Then either they'll do it for real or quit if they aren't willing to learn the basics.
