mmarkovich
Okay I will ask...sorry to be such a newbie, but what is a navmesh and where are the located? I know where to get to the meshes directory in the data file structure...I will be happy to delete the files and try again. The constant CTDs are killing me. Zalym
This is due to navmeshes. After I took my mod and only deleted the navmeshes, I was able to load the mod. Help me get awareness out. I've already posted a lot on steam forums about it, but most people only seems to know that it's custom cells, not actually what causes it. Delete navmesh = mod will work. Thank you! I've been working on my little house for a month or so, but haven't had a reason to try getting in from an exterior door since before the 1.5 patch. Was starting to pull my hair out as the mod was crashing while doing something that was thoroughly tested prior to 1.5. Deleted the nav-mesh on the main area of the house that has a door that is actually connected to an exterior cell, and it stopped the CTD's for me, thanks again and Kudos given. P.S. no save game corruption for me, yet...gonna back them up anyone again just in case. Also, I could COC load all the other (non-exterior door) cells even with the nav-meshes without a problem, I have no idea if that is relevant but just passing it along. mmarkovich, the navmesh, in probably oversimplified terms, is what the AI uses to navigate the world, someone please correct me if I'm wrong. If you are looking to delete the navmesh from your modded cell that you created, you can open the creation kit and find it under your cell's object window, along with all the objects that have been placed, mine is usually placed at the top of the list. I don't know if you can delete another person's modded cell nav-mesh. Someone else will have to answer that question. If this problem is affecting the entire game then disregard, I haven't actually played the game since I started modding. DeadlyCobraXXX
thanks for the Kudos, and you're welcome. Glad it worked out for you. Hopefuly, they'll finally get around to fixing this huge problem. I belive you can delete another person's added navmesh, given the fact that you have their pluggin, but I believe you'd have to save your own pluggin aferwards and have it load into the game after theirs does. Not 100% on this, but it makes sense when I think about it.
SkjoldBjorn
Tried just opening the plugin, finalize the navmesh save it and start up the game?I don't have this problem with my mods at the moment, but i updated my plugins after patch 1.5 because i had some improvements, though i did not have this issue in mind and i barely touched the navmesh, i just moved it a little to correct some collision issues i had. wallice
Same for me, the Navmesh is broken, using a unmodded save and reinstalled Skyrim did'nt help. Seems like I have to do 2500 triangles again. Also tried to refinalize the interior and removed a part of the navmesh but it did'nt help the cell only loads when the navmesh is removed completely.Created some new triangles after removing the old navmesh and finalized to test, everything is fine. Yanqui9
Interesting, I was wondering if it was just me. I added a new inn and a house near Riften very near the abandon alchemist's shack (which I populated with an alchemist). After this latest patch, I'm getting CTDs even trying to fast travel near the place. Also, one of the quests I was on broke (the one where you blackmail Anuriel in Riften) and another quest's marker is telling me to go into the cottage I added to solve it. Strangely, I can walk there just fine if I fast travel a distance away and just approach on foot. Everything works, the merchants and the conversations. Just CTDs on fast travel. I tried to recreate the navmeshes but no dice. It seems to be corrupting my current save game though as I never had any quest 'break' on me before. PS: Another weird thing that occurred is that one of the NPCs I added (the missing alchemist) appeared in Riften suddenly. I did give him default packages and one package to send him to the Inn I added near his shack but there he was in Riften. As soon as I saw him, he greeted my character and started walking back home. I verified that my package was not pointing to a Riften cell and that nothing was in there about following the player. SkjoldBjorn
To be honest, repainting the navmesh is not a solution, not if you have done a lot of it already. I tried this solution and it did not work, i find it strange that i did not suffer from the ctds until today. However, upgrading the the beta patch should fix it. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/news/article.php?id=92(not tried it myself yet, currently to busy)
Infidel13
How do you safely delete navmeshes? I would really like to get some of the mods like Dovahkiin Hideout working.
