matttighe15
I would love it no matter how it workedIf it all happens off screen in a "diceroll" based on who you sent and what they had on them, cool, all goodIf it sent literal NPC's who would actually fight, and i could tag along if i felt like it, even betterThe whole monitoring a map and controlling individual groups seems like a nightmare to code though. Also, i would definitely abuse said system by placing them super close to high danger areas as my own personal fire supportI mean, c'mon, im the general, the highest of all minutemen ranks. Why am i personally responsible for EVERYTHING the minutemen have to get done? What is the point of gathering minutemen recruits if its just a title, and they never do anything? SirDanest
I'm all for some kind of command over the minutemen as the story progresses. Generals shouldn't be foot soldiers taking orders from Preston. There are already mods for that, but I'd like more focus. I really don't want the temptation to take an army of minutemen on my random meaningless adventures and getting them eaten by deathclaws that I provoked for no reason... but commanding them in minutemen genuine business? That just makes sense. Unless it's Preston, he can provoke the meaningless deathclaws.

I have companions set to non-essential and also the neebs gaming level up sound replacer. I was in a dungeon and randomly leveled up without noticing, and neebs screamed promoted at me. Freaked me the f*#@ out and i 180d and blindly fired my maxed out two shot combat shotgun thinking i was being hit by a ghoul. Long story short, preston is somewhere in a metro tunnel under the commonwealth, minus a head.
SiPlusPlus
Hey, I could probably make this mod. Wouldn't be anything amazing. Do you like either of these for the response? Sound #1Sound #
kevkiev
Hey, I could probably make this mod. Wouldn't be anything amazing. Do you like either of these for the response? Sound #1Sound #2Can... barely... type... laughing... too... hard... Not sure I have a fave between the 2, they're both great. Well, on second thought, my current char would LOVE to give response #1. For some reason, I didn't mind Preston in my first couple games but I can't stand him in my 3rd playthrough. Appoints you the General but still controls everything. Listens with apparent sympathy about your son/spouse but then does everything he can to use you to accomplish his goals despite knowing you have an important mission to accomplish. And every once in a while he even sleeps in my bed and I have to reassign him to his own one - what a creep! After the main quest, he's either going on guard duty or off to inhabit Spectacle Island by himself.
pra
Hey, I could probably make this mod. Wouldn't be anything amazing. Do you like either of these for the response? Sound #1Sound #2 :laugh:Good job! You could add several possible options, like the first one gives "nice" responses. Like, "I trust your abilites, you should be able to do it yourself", which he will like sometimes. Then one generic one like "I don't have time for this", and then the one whcih gives you your sound files :D These he'll dislike sometimes. Sound #1Sound #2BOTH PLEASE. The "UP YOURS" minus "do it yourself" when you just flat out refuse him, but the other option WITH "do it yourself" when you are telling him to go do it.Also, my newest character is a woman. Anyway we can get female options too? Not a dealbreaker, idgaf if my character magically yells at preston in a manly voice, as long as it will make preston go clear the settlements himself Edited January 14, 2018 by matttighe15

SirDanest
I'd love a "'tactical options' general of the minutemen," of which this would fit in fine. Rather than letting me drag an army of minutemen around (which though realistic might be unbalancing,) just the ability to send them places to "do it yourself, preston." Certainly when the player is still a newbie, the "do it yourself" attitude wouldn't go well with trying to get along with the minutement, but later on? It makes a lot of sense. As you've noticed, the player has numerous do-it-yourself dialogue options, they just don't do anything (yet.)
