NMM Certain mods won't activate

I've been all over the internet trying to figure out how to fix this, but nothing has worked, so I finally decided to cave in and make my own topic.

 

I've been using the mod manager for a week now with Skyrim Special Edition with a few mods just to try it out, and it was working fine. I decided to try out some more mods, and most will activate perfectly fine, but some don't.

 

So here's what I do and what happens:
I download the mod (one being Amazing Follower Tweeks SE) with the mod manager (manual downloading then selecting and adding it to the manager later has the same effect), and it supposedly downloads fine, saying it's complete. It is added to my list, so I try to then activate it. It shows up in the activation queue, but just as it is about finished it suddenly stops with no error messages popping up or anything. If I hover my mouse over the text under Status, it just says this:

"A problem occurred during install:"

It also does this with Immersive Armors, Total Character Makeover, and Rustic Clothing.

I've tried opening it as administrator, cleaning out my C: drive to make more room, uninstalling then reinstalling all the things, disabling my antivirus, but nothing seems to work.
