Ichor, Inspired by the great H.P Lovecraft.

Enjoy!

I awoke on a ship to the sound of a blip and a curious silence in the air,
My feet hit down to traverse around but the sound was no longer there.
I recall a faint smell, reticent of hell, of which, I could no longer bare.
Looking around to find the source of the sound, I found naught but a flare
My logic
surpassed the question I asked, though the smell, I cannot share.
To the quarterdeck I marched, through the brig and the hull,
A strange instance
occurred as they were usually full.
Quizzically I looked, as a strange mark overtook my thoughts and sense of self,
The horror was here, instilling such a fear I can scant describe
The markings and lines, the scribbles on the sides, my sanity I can no longer hold dear
Reacting to the blip, a fall, a sudden slip rendered my mind at ease
But lo, the dreams came fast and you dare not ask, as to the meaning of fear
The void in which we dwell is not unlike the hell, in the tales of those logically impaired
It seeks to destroy but not for the joy, only for the purpose it can't avoid
I tell you to prepare, for they will not be fair and time is running short
But back on track, I'm alone in my shack, shaking with paralyzing fear
They are aboard the ship, and I'm about to flip from the knocking on the door
More
scratchings and grunts, a slimy malevolence upfront, sanity cannot adhere
I shall spy through a hole, the moment my soul is released from this
agonizing fear
What I did see no pen can truly free, the horror to it's extent
A mass of gas, slime and
protrusions of queer form
My back quickly turned to the door as a slimy ichor oozed about my feet
Combining itself into
infinitely strange contours, I must rush to the deck
To drive these beast into the unfathomable depths, I must
procure safe passage
With the walls dripping down, the smell and the sound prove quite something to endure
Reaching the deck, oh what the heck, over I go, with this tome in jar
Take this message and run for the old ones have come.
