NPC combat animations broken... but only sometimes.

I'm experiencing an odd situation where NPC's weapon animations won't trigger sometimes, leaving them moving around in t-pose with terrible AI.

In Helgen, as soon as soldiers use their weapons, they're in t-pose, but this doesn't affect Hadvar and Ralof. If I try escaping the cell in Alternate Start, all the ghosts attack me in t-pose. However if I start a fight in Whiterun, everyone's animations work fine.

I came across a fight between Imperials and Stormcloaks over a fort, and for the most part, the fight went as it should, but now all the imperials are standing at the bottom of a tower with their weapons drawn, seemingly waiting for the 1 Stormcloak up there to come down... but he's sitting up there motionless in his t-pose. Everyone is pretty much motionless.

In all cases, spell, idle, and scripted animations work just fine. Animations on my character work just fine. The only problems are the NPC T-posing and the AI going dumb.

Any idea what mod is breaking my game? Already used LOOT, updated my bash patch, and ran FNIS. Wondering if I missed a patch somewhere.

I checked the ReAnimate mod, and what I'm experiencing doesn't seem to be that. Disabling and Enabling the character in cc doesn't fix the problem (And that's basically what ReAnimate does, apparently). If it helps narrow things down at all, npc's are also experiencing a weird stutter-step where their feet move too fast. It's especially prevalent when they're looking up. I also haven't encountered a single animal in t-pose.

Edit: I also never experience the nude, headless t-pose. All NPC's remain fully dressed and with their heads screwed on.

It is definitely not an animation issue. If it were animation, then all NPCs were alike. Or at least all vanilla race NPCs. And also the player. And animations are never ever location dependent.

It must have to do with the engine. Maybe there is something in the background that makes your engine "stutter".I would even look into the Windows event viewer to check for possible OS problems. FPS can also be a problem.

Alright, that was really good advice. It gave me the idea that I was perhaps putting too much pressure on Papyrus. I uninstalled Birds of Skyrim SSE, and lo and behold, suddenly no more t-pose.

Edit: Damn it. Nope. I lied. I figured out what's going on. It's two-handed weapons and bows that are spazing out. I wasn't paying attention to the fact that the people not suffering from t-pose were using 1-handed weapons. Turns out FNIS is looking in the wrong drive. My current install is in my C drive, but FNIS expects my generator and install to be on my M drive as that's where my old install is located. I'm unsure how to fix this as reinstalling FNIS didn't work, and FNIS itself is already in the correct drive. Any way to force it to look in the right place? If anyone can help me with this, I figure it's you, haha.
