8 GB ram for Oblivion

I am using Windows 7 x64 and want to know that the "LAA" patch will work to fill whole 8gb? It says 4gb enable

There are 3-4 out there, which one to use to enable 8gb?

Hi,

Oblivion is a 32bit Application and therefore not able to use more than 4GB. Even that 4GB is theoretical, it will not even use that much :)

So, to answer your question, there is no 8GB enabler ;)

To clarify, you can use a utility to allow Oblivion to access up to 4 GB of RAM, but there is no way, short of Bethesda recompiling Oblivion as a 64 bit application (and Skyrim isn't even 64 bit) for it to ever use more than that.

I will use LAA 4gb and play Oblivion even if its crashing :tongue:

sad to hear Skyrim is not 64bit
