Baffling black lines down game. Along with other games

Hi Guys.

So I've recently upgraded my gfx card to a shiney new Nvidia GTX 1050TI 4GB one, and for the most part my games now look sweet as F.

However.....

I have a very baffling problem with some games. There are faint regular spaced black lines running down the screen, and they're very off putting.

The games so far affected are: -

Skyrim SE
Fallout 4
CoD Ghosts
Star Wars Battlefront.

I wanted to post some screenshots, and that's where I discovered a very strange thing. The lines don't how up in the screenshots.


The only way I managed to take screenshots, was by taking photos with my phone.


I'm using a pretty old lcd monitor. Running at 60mhz. At a resolution of 1680 X 1050. It's plugged into one of the HDMI ports on my card. Using a VGA to HDMI adapter.

Now surely if this was a problem with the card, or monitor, these lines would be on everything. Including windows. However, some very graphically intensive games, like Doom 2016, Witcher 3, and CoD IW play perfectly. On the highest graphics settings.

Any ideas what could be causing these lines? I've looked through the Nvidia settings, and I can't see anything relationg to these problems.
