AngrySpartan
Hey all, I've been trying to install the Tetrachromatic ENB for a while now, and before that several other ENBs. Every time I'll go through, follow the directions, then have my launcher not respond when attempting to run Skyrim. Things of note:My Skyrimprefs.ini file rarely ever has all the settings stated in the ENB set upMy Nvidia automatically puts on "Multi-Frame Sampled Anti-Aliasing" There does not seem to be a way to disable this individually Things I have tried:Clean installingInstalling the ENB first, and as the only modification to the Skyrim game folderAdding in the settings mentioned in the Skyrimprefs.ini, I have also used an automatic exe to do thisMaking my Skyrimprefs.ini document read only after editingDifferent ENBsDisabling post process effects (aside from the ones in the Geforce Experience thing which doesn't let me toggle it)I have tried with and without SKSE (steam version) I'm really frustrated as this is probably the 7th or so time I've tried this, even on different PCs at one point I believe. I also noted that taking out the d3d9.dll file makes the game launcher run. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue? Grospolina
My Skyrimprefs.ini file rarely ever has all the settings stated in the ENB set upIf a setting is missing, then you can add it. Any settings that it doesn't recognize will simply be ignored. My Nvidia automatically puts on "Multi-Frame Sampled Anti-Aliasing" There does not seem to be a way to disable this individuallyYou can disable it individually:Open the Nvidia Control Panel.Go to "Manage 3D settings" on the left.Go to the "Program Settings" tab.Select "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (tesv.exe)" in the drop down menu. If it doesn't exist, then add it with the Add button.Change Multi-Frame Sampled AA (MFAA) to "Off".Click Apply.Making my Skyrimprefs.ini document read only after editingIf you make SkyrimPrefs.ini read-only, then you won't be able to save any changes to your settings in game. Disabling post process effects (aside from the ones in the Geforce Experience thing which doesn't let me toggle it)See below. If ENB is still not working, then check these things:Update DirectX (June 2010).Get the Windows Fall Creators Update for Windows 10 through Windows Update. It fixes the 4GB VRAM limit. Get it even if you don't have a 4GB+ video card.Make sure no overlays are running. That includes FPS/CPU/GPU meters, RivaTuner Statistics Server, MSI Afterburner OSD, Nahimic, Razer overlay, anything with "OSD" in the name, etc. Steam overlay is fine though.Disable GeForce Experience share overlay or just uninstall GeForce Experience entirely.Disable "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service" in Windows 8/10.Disable "Xbox Game Bar/DVR" in Windows 10.Make sure you have enbhost.exe and d3d9.dll from ENBseries.DELETE any dxgi.dll, d3d11.dll and d3dcompiler_46e.dll from your Skyrim main folder. Those are for Special Edition.Make sure you're using the recommended version of ENB for the preset you're using, or at least something close. You can try the latest version of ENB after you get that working. The latest version won't always work with older presets.Set up VideoMemorySizeMb properly in enblocal.ini.Set ExpandSystemMemoryX64=false in enblocal.ini.Try EnableCompression=true in enblocal.ini.Try turning off your antivirus/firewall temporarily. If that works, then make an exception for enbhost.exe.
