Roarian
I've noted that many characters say lines when you pass them by; i've been trying to replicate that. I want to place a town crier near the entrance of town (voice acted) that will comment on your greatest deeds, perhaps two who converse with each other over what you did, that sort of thing. I've been trying to get this to work, but I can't seem to manage to duplicate how the NPCs do it; the issue isn't setting up the lines, conditions etc, but that they actually say it when you're within range. If you have a tip on how best to handle this, I'd love to know. The character, when functional, will end up in the Interesting NPCs mod with the rest of them, adding a bit of spice to the game world. :)
David Brasher
The lines they say to the player would be under the misc. tab and would be in the Hello category. The conditions would need to be set so that only the town criers say them. The quest they reside in would have to be higher priority than the other quests that they can draw dialog from. Right, the Hello category however seems only to activate if you pass really close by them, rather than with other NPCs that seem to start bellowing from the other side of the room if you even look at them funny. :P
