Items that are both Armor and a Weapon

Is there any way to make an item that is both a weapon and a piece of armor? I know that in GECK, there was a menu for it that let you make a weapon use up an armor slot. Is there some way to do that in the CK? There's no direct way to do it in the CK that I've found, but does anyone know a workaround or a scripting method to do it?

 

The goal is to make a Hand Weapon that can be used and enchanted as a Weapon, but also takes up the Hand's armor slot. Preferably it should also be able to add Armor Rating like a piece of armor, but if that is not possible, then oh well.

 

I've had several ideas for workarounds, but they all had fairly major issues.

Well, shields are considered armor by the game and you can use them to bash peoples teeth in. You can also make weapons and torches act as a shield. See this mod, for instance: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=12060. It sets parrying-daggers and other weapons to be used like shields. There is also a shield called Shield (or maybe Targ) of the Blooded, or something like that, which has a script that adds a bleeding effect to an enemy that has been bashed by it. Not sure if this helps you, but maybe it's worth looking into.

Then too, you also have the Ebony Mail armor which has a poison/continuous damage effect on ANY nearby NPC during combat (not good if there are guards around!) You could try looking at the Stormcloak Officer Gauntlets and adding an enchantment/damage effect to them (the steel 'claws' gives them a cool look)
