Low SSD space with NMM

Dear all ,

I would like to know how to remove installed mods , such as large texture mods that are upwards of 2gb , I cannot afford to have 78GB of installed NMM files lying around in my 512 SSD hard disk afaik it will cost me upwards of 300 USD to upgrade my razer blade SSD

So scenario is if i delete the installed texture zip , file nexus mod manager prompts me to uninstall it from my game , and can someone give me a headsup about the virtual install folder currenly 23GB I'm not really tech savvy
Thank you .

Use VirtualInstall on another HDD. It will keep the mod files on that HDD.

That won't work. The VirtualInstall folder must be on the same drive as Skyrim is.

Instead, move the Mods folder (containing the zip files) to another drive:

  1. Copy the Nexus Mod Manager\Skyrim\Mods folder to another drive.
  2. In NMM, go into Settings > Skyrim tab and change the Mod Directory to point to the new folder.
  3. Close NMM.
  4. Delete the old Mods directory from your SSD.
  5. Open NMM and make sure it doesn't ask you to uninstall your mods.

If NMM isn't open and you just move the Mods folder instead of copying it in step 1, then NMM may ask you to uninstall the mods and not let you into the program in order to change the settings.
