tekhead001
I'm running the latest patched version of Skyrim. Not running SKSE at all, that I know of. There are a lot of things I think need to be tweaked in the game, and a large number of patches handle one or two of them without addressing them all. Eventually I want to create a comprehensive mod that handles all of them (I'm a total newbie at modding though, so it'll take a long time), but until then I'm running this patch-work beast. So, every other time I try to enter Whiterun, whether by main gate, Breezehome door, Dragonsreach door, or COC console command, Skyrim simply shuts down. No warning, no loading screen, no error message. IS this being caused by a mod or mod conflict?
adamhun
Have you tried to enter while disabling every Whiterun altering mod? The 2 I can instantly see are the Whiterun Ferns and the Gildergreen mod. Try to disable those. If it's still crashing, try a new game. If it is still crashing, then I don't know :D

I'll try disabling the two whiterun mods, but I used them for a while without problems, the crashing is much more recent, so I don't think it's those. So it's not them. Anyone else have any clue as to where this problem is coming from?
soulslayerzx
Just wondering how do you set a load order?
gagoloth
I would recommend "Wrye Bash" and "BOSS". wrye tells you if your load order is screwing up . BoSS reorders it for you. SinderionsBones
After you fix your save game, if that doesn't work, the obvious step is disable all your mods(hey, you already took the time to write a list here, now you have a quick reference to what you use), then enable them one by one till you find the problem. Do you have any mods that you're working on yourself? you'd probably want to take those out first as well. Who knows what they have in them if you haven't cleaned them yet. I do have a feeling the save cleaning will work out. Just wanted to drop the obvious answer. Lots of mods modify things they didn't mean to because not all mod authors 'clean' their mods first (much like you're doing with your saved game now). Wrye Bash http://skyrim.nexusm...ile.php?id=1840 Boss http://skyrim.nexusm...s/file.php?id=6 I thought that the current form of BOSS doesn't reorder the load order because Bethesda changed how it orders the mods. Its easiest to install BOSS, then manually change the load order (using BOSS as a reference) via NMM or the skyrim launcher.

Every time I open NMM it throws up a popup of 'checking most recent BOSS masterlist' or something like that.
BigKevSexyMan
Usually when this happens to me. It's when skyrim tries to load a texture or something that is corrupt or simply not there. Try uninstalling all your mods, making sure your directory is clean, then re-installing all of them again. That's probably the sure fire way to fix this. Assuming it's simply a bad mod you downloaded. Just play around with it until you find out what happened.
