Sunnie
It's likely that your navmesh is probably broken. Make sure that there are no "islands", and that all the navmesh is completely connected throughout your house. It will be necessary to do some hand editing after doing any auto generation. Connect disconnected sections, get rid of tris in places that any NPC would never need to go (corners, nooks and crannies, etc). Thats all I can suggest without actually seeing your navmesh. jet4571
I get that issue too with a good navmesh. But only when the lower floor is directly under the upper floor once i get to where the upper floor is not directly above me then my follower comes running to me on the same floor. It might have to do with the min/max follow distance and they really are following you, just upstairs.

jet4571
The navmesh bug is when you enter a cell 2 times during the same game session the NPC's will not follow the navmesh correctly the second time. Sometimes if multiple NPC's are already in the cell they will spawn in 1 location. Follower NPC's could stay at the front door and refuse to move from there or appear to follow a navmesh from another cell (probably the cell buffer not being refreshed) such as refuse to walk across wide open areas and try to walk through furniture or walls. quick save and quick load sometimes fixes it.
