memeticContagion
So the mod author on WNC suggest in the description page that I put Sim Settlements below WNC, but Sim Settlements is an esm file. I know that .esp files can be placed before .esm files because the unofficial patch is placed right below the main game, but when I try to manually place WNC above sim settlements in LOOT and the game itself, it refuses. anyway around this? Druuler
You would need to "flag" the WNC esp as an esm using FO4Edit. Once that is done, the WNC file will be considered an esm file, and you can place it however you wish among your ESMs in your load order. Edit: Odd that the author of WNC is not aware of the limitations on mixing esp and esm files....
memeticContagion
where would I find the option to apply a flag under FO4Edit?
Druuler
Once FO4Edit has finished loading all the chosen files, you will see a + beside all of the ESMs and ESPs. Clicking on that or double-clicking the file name will expand the file, showing you all of the file groups in the mod. Right below the name of the ESM/ESP is File Header. Click on that, and then look in the right-hand window for the line "Record Flags". The spot to the right of that (in the column for the mod you are working on) will be blank. Right click on that blank spot, and you should get an options window. Choose Edit. FO4Edit will now give you some time to reconsider what you are doing, then ask if you wish to continue. Agree to continuing to get another drop-down menu. Choose ESM, click OK, save the file, and exit FO4Edit. The ESP for WNC should now show up in bold in your load order, and you can move it among the ESM files. It is highly recommended that these "flagged" ESP files stay near the bottom of your ESMs, if at all possible.
