Hello Modders,

i have business class CAD CATIAV5 Systems at my hand and more than ten years of exp. in using them to earn my living.

Are there some Experts who know about modelling support i can provide to Mod projects? Especially the data exchange format is of interest.

Best regards, MIRW.

Hallo Modder,

Formats i can provide out of the box: .stp .igs .3dxml/3Dpdf .cgr .wrl ...and of course all CATIA formats.

I cant say ive ever heard of Catia V5, although i'm using other CAD software quite frequently. So i cant say what you can or cant do with the software specificly. but what i can say is that as long as you can produce 3d models with the software, there's a good chance you can use it to export them as a .OBJ to nifskope, and from there into Skyrim. Some programs can export skinned models. And if Catia can do that too, you could probably export those as well :)

in the end its probably best to use dedicated modeling software like 3ds Max, Maya, Blender or similar.

Thx for your comment Urwy,

as far as i can see the solution is provided by a converter --> meshlab

I can export stl out of Catia and import in meshlab for export as obj. Will check this soon...

The reason for not using Blender, maya or 3ds max is the crappy haptic (from my pov).

In relation to my system its like training a cat driving a car :pinch:

EDIT: Tested and approved!

Someone interested in a test? I have no clue about scaling.

Someone here who´s giving this crown a push? I can create a *.obj File for import in nifskope, works fine so far.

But i have no idea about scaling or even importing to skyrim.

If someone is interested in developing this into the game, give me a call. I´ll share my file to anyone who brings this live.

Would really be nice to see some feedback.

Best regards, MIRW.
