Perraine
This may not be a particularly new or profound insight to experienced modders or Nifskope users, but it was frustrating the hell out of me, so I'll post this advice here in case anyone else is having the same issue and can't find the answer I couldn't understand why my carefully edited mesh positions in Nifskope would almost never show up in game! Using Right clicking on the NiTrishape, then clicking Transform -> Edit , brings up the handy little window to adjust the position of the item, then right click again Transform Apply to make the new co-ordinates you entered the default 0.000, 0.000, 0.000 for x,y,z . BUT you MAY also need to go into BSDismemberSkinInstance -> NiSkinData (directly under the NiTriShape) , clicking on NiSkinData will show the information in the bottom window, click on the little arrow next to "Skin Transform" and there is another set of x,y,z co=ordinates that you, MAY, need to edit so that they will match the ones you entered earlier! **Note, you may need to repeat the steps ("edit ->apply" on the NiTriShape and "edit and/or clear" on the NiSkinData a couple of times until the mesh doesn't move any more when you click "Apply"

JobVanDam
What if there is no BSDismemberSkinInstance? I edited a torch item to be more in the player's hand and it is appearing fine in game but in Nifskope the axis arrows aren't centered. Also with ENB turned on it seems they are two flames in a torch item, one of them is in the correct spot but it appears another is in the the spot where the torch used to be before I edited it to be more in the player's hand. Any thoughts?

Jkroovy
3 years later and after 1 hour of googling found this essential information, many thanks :)
piotrmil
Nope, that doesn't work for me. I did all that you said, but my object has no "BSDismemberSkinInstance". That strikes me as really weird: why would nifskope LIE to me about the position of an object? If I change the xyz values, I expect them to show up correctly! VanKrill
Bless the OP a 1000 times! I've been fighting this problem for weeks, finally found this in a google search, and it works! Now I can fine position all of gear items that have been clipping and annoying the devil in me. Thanks Again! -
slip9419
doesnt work for me either. tried to change hands mesh (positions of some nodes exactly): when i've applied only transformed nodes under NiNode and BSDismemberSkinInstance - nothing changed at all (like - i see changes in nifskope and in CK under armor section, but nothing ingame, or in CK under actor section), when i also tried to apply root NiTriShape node... well, smth have changed)) i'd rather post a screenshot, since i have no f***ing idea, how to describe it)same s*** appears in CK under armor section, but in actor it seems like positions of whole hands are completely broken. they're flying somewhere above characters head (and i still see no changes i've made).anyone ever faced such an issue? i'm about to give up and start learning blender)) UPD:okay, i'm dumb) i was doing the wrong thing all the way) finally figured this out) Edited September 16, 2017 by slip9419
