ouiouiwewe
Hi guys, I got asked to an interview from one of the game companies (game programmer position) a few towns away from where I live (in the U.S.) and they said they'd be giving me a 2-hour interview test where I'd sit down at a computer (or my laptop) and write some programs/scripts. I am also allowed any resources I have available on web or on the site (i.e. paper notes, laptop) The topics they told me they'd be testing are OpenGL, C/C++, HTML, and code optimization. Do you guys have a good guess of what to expect? I think I can handle pointers pretty well but I'd be quite worried if they start asking me to do .NET (which I don't work with often although they didn't mention .NET) and use open source libraries (which may require some in on-the-spot learning). I also wonder what kind of things they'd ask me do with OpenGL. As with C/C++, unless I have my own personal libraries with me, special effects, physics, and animations'd probably take a long time to do. I can always get the "right" libraries ready to make this easier, but even the choice of what libraries to install beforehand is a big question (video? image? sound? numerical?). The HTML part, OTOH, should be easy since I can just prepare an all-purpose CSS file.
RitualBlack
You seem very knowledgeable and I would expect that if you can't do it during the limited time frame they probably will not ask you. I can't help you out much with your question but I can wish you good luck  . Bring some of your work also. If you have some impressive things on your computer than I am sure they would love to see it. (Just out of curiosity, is this really your first post since 2006? )

RitualBlack
I know that they require membership but it seems odd to be around here for over five years without writing a word down anywhere. It doesn't matter, it just struck me as a bit odd. Anyways, best of luck with your interview  .
mattlittlej
My only advice is to make sure you're wearing pants.
