marthgun
Hello, I have made a custom building in 3ds max, it is NOT textured, i was just trying to get it over to the CK for testing. I exported the .nif from 3ds to nifskope: http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/8752/pergamonhelp1.png Then I assigned an entry into the ck for this, but when I link to the .nif file, it only brings up an exclamation mark and where it says textures, it shows MarkerError0, so i don't see the mesh inside the preview window. http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/9901/markereror.png So the first question is, in 3ds do I need to attach all the seperate pieces of the building into 1 object? There are unattached pieces still. Second, I couldn't figure out the collision because I could only put collision on 1 piece at a time. The mesh should still come up though, right/? Third, is this mesh not showing up because of the lack of textures? Or is there something I need to do in nifskope? Thanks!
Dragonspyre
First: Yes, you do. Second: Put collision on everything. It still should come up, but it's to prevent problems. Third: You not only lack mapped and linked textures, but it appears to be that you mislinked the path for the NIF in nifskope.
marthgun
Ok, thank you very much, the first 2 I will take care of. I take it I do need textures for it to properly render in the CK, as well as the game. I imported the .nif from 3ds, then saved it again inside nifskope. that's why the file names are different. marthgun
any other suggestions would be good too, especially on nifskope. my brain has taken in too much info trying to learn the CK, then 3ds, then nifskope all in the last week.
