[LE] Duplicated ID's problem

Hello everyone

I try to upgrade PerMa 1.6 translation to 1.7 version using Tes5edit, but uploaded references get different ID:s, according to load order. It looks like an object in second loaded esm has ID 02xxxxxx, but the same identical object in third loaded esm has ID 03xxxxxxx. If I switch those esm's load order over, it just behave the same way. So identical references doesn't overwright each other. It looks tough to rename each ID manually, especially in such complex mod as PerMa. Does anybody know better way, like for example using some script (included in Tes5edit or not)? The problem is just rename ID 02xxxxxx to 03xxxxxx with scripting way.

Be patient to my english (I'm still learning), and I know nothing about scripting to invent something smart. So I really need your help, guys.

It appears you want to change the mod index(0x) of an ESM. This can't be done at run-time(executable running) with a script. Indexes are changed through load order, as in.. moving mods up and down. I don't know if mod indexes can be physically changed into another hex number not assigned by the game.

And speaking as a native english speaker, your english is perfect, keep up your studies. I'm learning finnish, I know exactly how it is when learning a language unlike your mother-tongue.

Thanks a lot, I just wonder why copy of the same esm (original and translated to russian) don't have dependencies. Obviously references are copied as a new records into new esm by translators. Can't imagine what can I do with that.

And specially for you, Rasikko, I really impressed, that the first one who answered to my request, have the same hobby as I have. Finnish is other point of my linguistic interest, because I live in Russian North near Finland, but all english speaking countries located quite far from that. I suppose it exotic a little bit for UK:n and USA:n (AUS and all others too, of course) inhabitants, especially since there are less then six million native fins in their own country and country is not very big.

So: Oppi sitä ahkerasti ja ota käyttön, harjoittelu tekee mestarin! (I hope others pardon me for a bit of finnish here)

Kirjoitat hyvää suomea. Opisekelen joka päivä suomea. Suomeni ei ole vielä hyvä. Tiedän monia sanoja, olen opiskelut kirjasta. Olen opiskellut suomea 13 kuukautta.

I don't know if its a against the rules to post in different languages, so I'll post yours and my translations:

You said: To try hard, take it easy and practice makes perfect.

I said: You write good finnish. I study Finnish every day. My finnish is not very good. I know many words but they all come from the grammar book. Been studying for 13 months.

My level is A1.1. I get stuck when I need to speak in the past tense, for easier sentences, I add a lot of detail(this language is all about detail, but the language is mostly used in a short to the point way partly due to words being very long) convey my meaning, while trying to keep it as finnish-like as possible. According to my wife(who helped me construct the third sentence onward as what I wanted to say go more difficult for my current level) I know more finnish than half of the foreigners staying there lol. The class I was in, there was 18 of us to start. By the end of the second month there was only 5 of us :/. I self teach myself now since I don't have funds for another class.

Now for the topic at hand.. my only guess is that making an ESM file dependent on another is a pain to do. I don't know the procedure for it off hand. I don't think simply saving the ESM with another one is the way to go.

If you're making a translation patch you want to copy the records as overrides in xEdit from the original language mod into your translation patch mod. When you right click on a record in the left pane you will get options to copy as new or as override. When you choose override it will have the same ID in the new file and will be dependent on the parent. When you choose copy as new it creates an entirely independent (subjectively) record that has nothing to do with the parent. This gives it its own ID and will not overwrite the parent.

Yeah, I manage Tes5edit's new and overrided references. It seems I am forced to create those dependencies, I mentioned above, manually. And translate them according the pattern... May be I'll have enough patience (and free time) to finish that. I just wander to try exellent mix of Better Spell Learning, Spell Research and PerMa mods combination for mage replay, all translated to russian for the best immersion. Though trying the original english Game is not a bad idea too...
