Put simply, is there any hope to obtain some of the "entry level" modding tools for DA:O? For example, there's a much-talked-about tool(s) from Adinos called "DATool" or "DA Model Manipulator" that I am unable to get due to the Bioware social network being taken down. I've performed my idea of a hard-target search and the only accessible thing I found was a beta version on File Planet that has no functionality other than as a model viewer.

Any working links to modeling/modding tools, particularly to do with 3D meshes, would be appreciated. Toolset is adequate for many functions, but when it comes to manipulating 3D models it's cryptic at best.

It's prohibitively difficult to even get off the ground vis-a-vis equipment modeling, what with most of the informative posts/tutorials and associated "inter-linking" being hamstrung by Bioware's rather nasty thumb-in-the-customer's-eye move and, to a lesser extent, by Nexusmod site's URL "restructuring."

... anybody??? Could someone at least point me to a working downloadable "version 1.xx" copy of the DA Model Manipulator Tool?

There was no 'version 1' of DATool (AKA DA model manipulator). The last version (the one that was downloadable from BSN Projects) was beta 0.5, dated December 2009.

The only downloadable version I could find still accessible in the public domain is v0.1, and it's only a bare-functioning model viewer. I know DA:O is still popular (heck, people are still fiddling with NWN1, I spent substantial hours using the NWN toolset just this past month), and this whole shutdown of the BSN is inexplicable on so many levels, from a customer-relations perspective.

(Put more bluntiy, it's a dirty trick -- had modders and the community known they were capable of pulling such a stunt, they could have "set up shop" on another bandwidth-friendly forum without too much trouble. All the threads and labor people put into modding, and their solution is to shut down the archives. Very, very disillusioning to the hardcore fan-base.)

DATool was a complete pain in the behind to find!

archive.org waybackmachine was a total bust looking in "files.bioware.com/*" and "social.bioware.com/*".
The DATool page, http://social.bioware.com/project/41, isn't archived!

And it looks like the file was put behind a wall with the address: http://social.bioware.com/bw_projects_file_download.php?project_file_id=659, so no archived .zip file to be found.

Then I searched Google: https://www.google.com/search?q="DATool.zip"

Found 0.4.

Then searched: https://www.google.com/search?q=site:http://skyrim4ik.spaces.ru/ "DATool"

Bingo!

Anyway, here it is!
http://skyrim4ik.spaces.ru/files/?r=main/view&Li=3415544&Lii=35704227&Link_id=1675289&Lt=1&Read=35704227&Sc=1&Sn=1&Sort=1&sid=1345719370568388

If anyone wants to upload this to Nexus so it doesn't get lost again, be my guest!
Sooner or later I might upload it myself if, heaven forbid, this link becomes obsolete.

@Drawken1; Sooner or later you'll get your account banned if you upload things to the Nexus for which you don't obtain first permission from the author/rights holder.

Is this conversation about the Dragon Age Toolset from the BioWare developers?

Because if it is, it's still available from the legitimate site...
