Modded skyrim SE not launching

A quick update:

Tried to run Mod Organizer 2 to see if I could gather any useful information, as it's pretty boring to deactivate and test mod by mod.

When I started SKSE via MO2 I saw a message in the end of the log implying some files haven't been found: https://imgur.com/a/TFl8z

Is there any way I can extract some useful info from this error messages, logs etc?

Also, I read in this topic that, if using NMM installation order matter, which is pretty bad for me, as I installed stuff and was hoping to organize them later via load order. Is that so?

I'm starting to ponder if I should clean all my mods and start again. If so, is there any guide to do so in the proper order? I'd prefer to this via NMM as it's more practical, but if it ends like this I'd not mind to do so via MO or any other software that does the same.

I found this STEP guide but it wasn't very useful as to which order should I install stuff via NMM.

I'm still investigating my mods, but the sooner I know about things I asked in this post, sooner I can decide the best course of action.

Thanks in advance!

"Unmanaged" means that they aren't installed into the mods directory of MO2. You can only prioritize the load order of the plug-ins of unmanaged mods in MO2 and not the mod files themselves.

To manage a mod with Mod Organizer, you must extract the contents of the mod archive into a folder in whatever directory is configured to be your Mods folder for Mod Organizer. You then have to check the box to the left to tell Mod Organizer to include them in the virtual directory upon launching the game executable.

Or you can install each mod one at a time by clicking the "install new mod from an archive" button.

NMM installs the mod files directly to your Data folder in the Skyrim SE directory. Mod Organizer installs your mods to a folder outside of the Skyrim Directory, but creates a virtual Data folder when you launch skyrim.exe through Mod Organizer. This is beneficial because there is no risk of unintentionally overwriting files and it leaves the actual Skyrim SE directory in a vanilla or "as close to vanilla as possible" state. This is convenient for trouble shooting or performing a clean install.

Installation order does not matter with Mod Organizer because you can prioritize mod files after you've installed them. For instance, you can simply drag the last mod you installed to the top of mod list and the virtual directory will behave as if it was the first mod installed.

I highly recommend using Mod Organizer over Nexus Mod Manager unless you only use a few mods.

From the topic, by user tjacks84:

"one very important thing to remember with NMM vs MO is installation order. Because there are no virtual file systems in NMM, you have to remember you can't move mods around like you can in MO, because you're writing into the actual data folder with mods. Crappy part is it means the mods you want to "win" conflicts have to be installed in the proper sequence. That means given what you've done with verifying cache restoring vanilla files, you'll have no choice but to un-install all your mods because all the stuff they changed got re-written to vanilla so resources or loose file changes are gone. I don't mean de-activate... totally uninstall every single one and then restore your data folder to vanilla."

NMM does today install in virtual folders as well today (if you click the folder button and click on "Open NMM's Mod Folder" it will open the actual place where the mods are installed, so proff is right there) all the esp's and bsa's you see in your skyrim data folder is just links to the actual files located in the virtual install folder. So that is outdated info there.

As for SKSE64 LOTS of players are using it without issues (myself included on my old hardware at least, having some trouble getting my own game up and running after I got new mobo/CPU/SSD myself, seems NMM's backup feature is absolutely s***, so yeah don't rely on that particular feature... (I mean I restore the backup, NMM claims in the mods windows everything is there and installed, incl the unofficial patch, but the esp for said patch is not even listed in the plugin window... so fear I need to go through and download every single mod again I am using from scratch, so my issues are pretty much unrelated to this)

For you specific issues I sadly can't help much, don't really know half the mods you got there I am pretty sure. Though have you cleaned skyrims own masters? https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2667094-guide-manual-cleaning-skyrim-master-files/

Also consider getting Wrye bash, and make a bashed patch toe reduce the actual number of esp's you got there

Hey everyone!
Thanks for all the replies and sorry for late reply.

I got tired of checking mod by mod so I deactivated them all and, after that, activated all that I REALLY liked and/or thought were important.

It worked! :)

Even better that it's not a small ammount of mods: https://imgur.com/a/EhIuS

Really glad that mods that adds new lands are working just fine! Using Beyond Skyrim, Falskaar and some others with no errors so far.

Now that the mission of knowing the problematic mod(s) is much easier, I'll try to identify it and hope it helps someone!

Thanks again for all the replies and tips!
