letsgoblues
So i downloaded Skyrim a couple days ago and it ran perfectly. Today i went to play it after my classes and i notice a lot of the textures are replaced with their purple forms. almost all the textures. I downloaded the HD texture pack thinking it would replace all of them. NOW i just have 30% purple parts. Other people who get these textures get them to go away from restarting but that does not work for me. I have even gone to deleting skyrim and re installing all of it and still nothing. I validated the cache and it did not find anything missing. I have no idea what the problem is. I have this problem on all visual settings. I have updated drivers. My computer has the ability to play the game because i did for a day or two with no issues. i have attached two pictures of the problem too. First is the loading screen where the smoke is replaced with purple. Second is in a house where certain textures are purple. Any help is greatly appreciated. AngeGardien
i am neer pretty sure it's a problem whit your video card, if you have an ati card, look for your driver, they have make a release of new driver today.

Either way the game looked fine before yesterday and now all of the textures are gone. yes, it's strange, i don't understand in your second picture why it's look like this, only people, door and carpet seem affected, but for the carpet it's only texture and mesh, i know bethesda have make a small update the last night of 20mg, i don't know if they have something to view, but for your fist picture, do you have mod or something like music they modify the vanilla picture ? like a mod they make turning the logo ? or if you know you folder, you can try to make a small check in going in your folder under the textures and mesh to view if you have something they are called carpet.??? if yes try to put it away for the test, you will know if it's a mod they are incopatible whit the new pacth... remember, each time bethesda make an update more mod become instable, it's too long to explain but the time the moddler make a fix of her mod it's can take time, and bethesda make big modification in this time, so more more become instable... letsgoblues
This is when i installed the HD pack to get some textures. If i use no mods i literally have no textures at all. Everything is that purple mold. Thats why i think its not a driver issue or something like bethesda support keeps telling me because it used to work fine. Then suddenly no textures at all. I thought the HD pack would have full textures so i installed but clearly its only a majority of textures and some are still standard. I have a textures.bsa file in the skyrim folder but i dont know what to open that with. Edited March 29, 2012 by letsgoblues
letsgoblues
Might have hit a big break through. i tried to move that texturepack file out of that folder so that when i verify the game realizes something is missing and it wouldn't let me. It said the file is corrupted of unreadable. I tried to move a different file out(sounds - which i know works) and it let me no problem. It must be that texturepack file that is not working right. What should i do from here? try to delete and then verify with steam? It wont let me do anything to this file Edited March 29, 2012 by letsgoblues

letsgoblues
I can run the HD pack fine. The problem is that the "Skyrim - Textures.bsa" does not work. This means that without the HD pack i have no textures and with the HD pack there are some missing textures (pictured) that are not supplied by the HD pack where the games uses the origional textures. i did try that thought and it had the same problem as the first post. Where i am running the HD pack but still missing the textures from the standard skyrim - textures.bsa Edited March 29, 2012 by letsgoblues

Where i am running the HD pack but still missing the textures from the standard skyrim - textures.bsa ok try something..., if you think it's the texture pack they are responsible, delete it..., after make a validation of your local cache they will find they have something wrong and force her to try to correct the situation in giving you a new file, like this if you texture pack are corrupted but not detect it they will replace it because they don't detec it now..., say me if it work, oh!, and when you try it after, make sure the two highrespack01 and 02 will be checked and the texture pack too, and the too, let's me know if it work... Rennn
I got purple trees when I didn't have enough RAM. If you have less than 4GB, that could be a problem. In fact, with a lot of HD textures 4GB might not even be enough. As soon as Skyrim was updated to 1.3 it let me use more RAM, so I haven't had the problem for a long while. If you have 2GB or a lot of hi-res textures, that's a very likely cause.
