Permanant Purple textures

I got purple trees when I didn't have enough RAM. If you have less than 4GB, that could be a problem. In fact, with a lot of HD textures 4GB might not even be enough.

As soon as Skyrim was updated to 1.3 it let me use more RAM, so I haven't had the problem for a long while. If you have 2GB or a lot of hi-res textures, that's a very likely cause.

yes, it's true, and i hope no one whit less than 4gb of mamemory and 1gb of video memory have not buying this game, because it's clearly indicated this is the minimum recomended, and more you put mod more you need memory, so if one people they have the minimum and they put 75 mods, i think her computer will say her "YOU ARE CRAZY"

but some people succest to have a good play when they use some mod or programs like mem saver or other thing..., but it's long time i have not tested because i have not need it

I have tried deleting it but it wont let me do that because the file is corrupted or unreadable. I have also tried moving it or renaming it but it wont let me for the same reason.

I have 6gb of ram and this was when i was running the normal set of textures only which i think is more than enough since i was able to run just fine for a couple of days before this happened.

IDK my first foray into PC gaming beyond minecraft has been a total bust. If steam had a call center it might be sorted out by now. but this is just too much effort to play a game. Tomorrow ill continue with bethesda now that im moving on to tier 2 customer support . maybe they can figure it out. man i just turned 21 went out with frinds and just wanted to roam a bit and explore in skyrim bc its just such a good looking game. but no i cant even change my texture pack so that everything isnt god damn pruple.

How is steam about giving me my money back so i can get this for ps3 or xbox or something

Just to be clear i had only one mod running (the rapid fire thing) and i have 1gp video card ram and 6 gb computer ram and i played on 720p with medium graphics to get about 30 - 40 fsp easily. I knwo my computer cant handle a ton of stuff soi took it light. i only istalled that hd pack bc i relized all my textures were mising and i was hoping that t pack would be a complete texture pack which it wasnt.

I had no problem running this game for 3 days no crashes or issues until one day i got back from class and everything was this evil purple mold. and f*** steam for not having a call center. how can it be so hard to get some help in delting a bad file and getting a new one.

Do you have make what Tea timer have say, it's always the fist thing to do anyway

?? you say you are not able to move any file, are you sure you are administrator for this folder, peharp the computer don't view you like an administrator,

and when you have make test in unchecking the file, i have peharp bad say my thing, or not enought, i have wanted deselect all the mod execp the esp they follow,

skyrim.esp,

highrestexture01.esp

highrestexture02.esp

update.esp

i think it's all you need to keep, in big you need to keep only the original from bethesda,

if nothing work and you begin to deseperate it's possible to erase all and begin again but it's very the last thing to do, because it's can cause other trouble...

Sorry about me raging earlier.

So i can a disc check and when it started it said in white text on that all black screen that it could not open it and then just said it was done. It only took like 5 seconds so i think it is not checking the disk for whatever reason. It never gave me one.

Deleting that textures file is what i need help doing. Every time i try to do anything to it so that is wont be recognized by steam it gives me this error "0x80070570: The File or Directory is corrupt of unreadable" And yes i am the administrator it says that under my name and i can select to run other things as administrator

I got it figured out with some help from someone on reddit!. Just renamed the data folder and removed it from the skyrim section. Then validated the files and it realized that whole folder was missing and reinstalled. New textures work great =D thanks for all the effort guys!

  • 7 months later...

1) Go to your steam Library

2) Right click on Skyrim

3) Click properties

4) click local files tab

5) click on verify integrity of game cache and wait.

If that does not work than its one of five problems.

1) Lower your graphics settings

2) Need more ram

3) Your ram and/or CPU is dying

4) You need better CPU

5) God hates you...jk

If none of these work than I don't know what else to tell you.
