Axisdeath
So, right now I'v been doing mainly companion mods, and I'm doing good so far. I currently have a really cute breton, but i want her to be an Ashen. I'v got the mod, I was just wondering how to use the Ashen in the CK and make her into an Ashen? David Brasher
Mods can't see other mods and you can't use content from one mod in another mod (unless you follow certain procedures.) So you will end up doing something like this: (1) Copy the race into your new mod so it exists there independently.(2) Build your NPC within your copy of the race mod.(3) Have your mod use the race mod as a master, which is a breeze if the master is an .esm, but really really stinks if the master is an .esp and you are new at mod-building. You have to use Wrye Bash and perform the bit flip to .esmify and .espify at the proper times each and every time to edit the mod or return to play-testing or gaming mod. One false move and you have ruined your mod and have to start over. (Hopefully you made a recent save with a different name than your other recent saves.)
