Ladders

Hey there folks. Working on a mod and I have found I need a ladder. Not a ladder model either. I'm working on a mod where I need to climb a tower, but Its so small inside, its utterly pointless to have traveling to it and I have it as an open world space. Problem is, I want the room to be hidden. The door is hidden behind moss and such, but its on the second floor and I have no way to get to it. I don't want to put stairs and a ladder would be dumb to use because a player cannot climb the ladder (imagine Battlefield or Call of Duty)

Is it actually possible for someone to create an animation for it, and have the player climb up a ladder, or is that just to much. How should I go about having a 'ladder' As of now I have another spot where I added some lantern posts as deco, and made them look like fancy trim, but you can climb up them. The spot I need a climby thing, such as grabbing onto small ledges is the real problem.

Anyone have an idea for this?

Ladders are doors in Skyrim and I'm not aware of anyone who's made a 'climbing' animation and nobody is going to make an animation for you.

I suppose if you had a static ladder [that wasn't a door] you could script or maybe through CK settings, turn it into something the player can path along but I couldn't say for certain. Sounds to me like you should have planed ahead a little and that you'll be going back to the level to change it so you're not painted into a corner.

I wasn't asking someone to make the animation for me, I was asking if anyone thought it would be possible to make one

I spose maybe trying to have it a pathed might work, been trying a few things like this already and haven't been having the best of luck tho.

I'd imagine it would be possible to make a climbable ladder, but you're probably going to need to learn how to script. I can't help you there, but considering what others have been able to script into the game, climbing a ladder sounds simple enough. I don't think there's any built-in method to create a ladder you can climb, and the only path-changing thing I know of in CK, like suggested above, is only for NPCs (navmesh). The animation itself would probably be the easy part.

Meh. Couldn't you just make the ladder a door, but link it so that it takes up to where the ladder ends? No cell-changing or anything.

That's how some ladders in the game do work, but what fun is that? I think what he's thinking is that would ruin the feel, actually climbing up a ladder to the top of a tower would add a much better feel to the quest.

I like that elevator idea. There are those 3 pistons in that one Dwemer ruin that bounce you up to the next floor. I suppose one of those could be modified with a platform under it so it lifts once, stops, then descends when you get back on it. Or the big stone trap things that are supposed to raise you into the spikes. Just make the top part not have spikes. Now I am getting all kinds of ideas for stuff! LOL!

Well the idea for the room is to be a secret. The mod is for the assassin/thief kind of gameplay, and it enables you to run around on rooftops and city walls. Theres an empty room in the windmill tower in Solitude where I put the room. I have it hidden with moss and such, and that looks fine, and I've had to make 'deco' wood pillars to jump up to get to the room. It looks kinda stupid, but its way less obvious then ladder. But

"Meh. Couldn't you just make the ladder a door, but link it so that it takes up to where the ladder ends? No cell-changing or anything" I'l have to look into this, I haven't seen this in Skyrim, anyone know whee an example would be in the game?
