kampeao
So, i placed a hatch in a desert right next to the scorpion burrow, and it teleports to an interior. The problem is that when i go in, the giant scorpions follow me and go inside my cell too.Is there any way I can prevent them to use the hatch and therefore keeping them from entering? Thanks in advance. Greslin
So, i placed a hatch in a desert right next to the scorpion burrow, and it teleports to an interior. The problem is that when i go in, the giant scorpions follow me and go inside my cell too.Is there any way I can prevent them to use the hatch and therefore keeping them from entering?(I'll check the post in 10 hrs+/-...going to sleep now, thanks for anyone who tries to help)If I recall correctly, the creature settings in GECK have a switch for "Can't Open Doors" for exactly this purpose - to keep a creature (such as a radscorpion) from crossing cell boundaries like that. From a quick look at the radscorp records in vanilla FNV, all the ones I've seen have that flag turned on. They shouldn't be crossing. It is possible that you have another mod that's tampering with your scorpions?
rotarydanimal
I had the same problem with NPC's from the Aerotech office park following me into a separate worldspace that I made from scratch. Still trying to figure it out myself.
kampeao
Well, thanks for the reply.I had a look at the scorpion creatures in the GECK too, and yes, they have that box checked. I also took a look at the reference(the big "M" that is a spawn point, and went to Edit base(ID: VSpawnTier3GiantRadscorpionMed75) and that box can't be checked...idk if it's because of that or not).So...i don't really know what the problem is...and no, i'm not using any mods.Does anyone else have any idea? Pelgar
Hi Kampeao, I'm a newb too and have been watching this thread. I'll probably have the same problem soon, I'm building a bunker in an infested area. I may have just stumbled across the answer to your problem. Have you edited the navmesh around the exterior location where your hatch is? If you break the navmesh close to the edges of the hatch I don't think the creatures will be able to get in. Since it's a teleport door breaking the navmesh shouldn't keep companions from going in with you.
kampeao
Pelgar, thanks for the help but i tried editing the navmesh and its not navmeshes near my hatch anymore. But they can still get inside, i dont know why or how... they can still go to the non-navmeshes area. Thanks anyway...any other idea? have you tried something else? Pelgar
I don't think they should be going where there is no navmesh! Did you finalize the navmesh after editing? The NPCs sort of go nuts sometime when it's not finalized. If you changed anything in more than one cell each modified cell will have to be finalized. As I indicated earlier I'm far from an expert but I'd be glad to take a look at your mod and see if I can spot something.I've also noticed out in the waste the navmesh is often under terrain. Maybe peek under your hatch and see if there is any navmesh down there.
kampeao
Well, here's a couple of printscreens...the scorpions can still get inside...isn't there an option, like a wall or unwalkable thingy?http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/703/img2zg.png/http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/72/img1l.png/
