Special Edition freezing after anywhere from 20-160 minutes.

Yes, you read that right, it'll freeze anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 1/2 hours of play.

 

So, basically, it'll freeze but I'll still get the game audio playing. There's no way to move anything, and the only way to quit is by killing the exe through task manager. I'd hope my system is actually powerful enough to run this game, because if not, something is drastically wrong. Attached is my load order. Maybe there's something conflicting.

 

My system specs:

 

• Intel i7-4790 @ 3.6GHz
• 16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR3 1600MHz
• Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+ OC 8GB
• Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 (rev 2.0) motherboard

Sounds like it might be a temperature thing, keep a close eye and even a log of cpu and gpu temps if possible.

It shouldn't be a temperature thing, the GPU is fine at 64C and same with the CPU.

Hi 93155,

 

Your computer is not to blame, at least it has more than the requirements to run the game, no worries here. If other games run well, then it would be safe to say the OS and drivers are also in good state.

 

Realisitc Water should be normally among your firsts to load, at least before Immersive Sounds (that's the issue IMO). If you have any other mod modifying sound, make sure to load them before Immersive Sound.

I will not read all the mods description pages, but I see you have many related to grass, among them, fixes. Start by keeping only SFO and Veydosebrom among them, and see how it goes, if you gain your stability.

As a minor check, make sure your lantern mods are in proper order as well.

Okay, so I went and completely uninstalled the game, made sure there weren't any mods installed, started a new game, the whole cannoli.

 

And it still freezes on me. So, I've just given up until I can maybe figure something out.

Same here. I have no mods installed and the game eventually freezes after some time. Sound is playing, but interaction with the process is inpossible. In the Taskmanager, the process is labeled inactive.

Hi, it seems you could have either a driver issue or hardware issue, I suggest you make a clean install of the latest GPU drivers.

 

This is not however a temperature issue, nor MOD conflict issue (as you claim to have started the game clean with no MODs and still freeze).

 

Quite honestly the only time I saw this happening, was then the game would run out of memory in LE, which is something ENBoost fixed, if you using ENB please enable speedhack.
