GrindedStone
http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac156/grindedstone/Currentz/forceddetail.jpg You might want it forced into full detail. Ultra filtered zero blur an fade set to the max draw distance with an insane sized map. http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac156/grindedstone/Currentz/confg.jpg The configurator and windows XP if you haven't seen it in the last 12 years lol. dukethepcdr
What the game Needs is an option to turn shadows off completely. Those of us who do not have uber PCs have problems getting things to render properly in the game, especially shadows. I won't go out and build or buy a $2000 computer to play this game, no matter how much I enjoy the game. With all the cool performance enhancer mods out there, there must be someone who can figure out how to get rid of shadows. I tried editing every shadow line mentioned in the .ini files by setting them to 0, but the game just ignored it and rendered shadows anyway. pondcypress
Really had it with the ridiculous shadows in Skyrim. I've read every forum, looked up every variable, still can't find a workable solution to this blocky, jittery mess. The 5s jumps can be fixed with these additions in Skyrim.ini under [Display]: fSunShadowUpdateTime=0fSunUpdateThreshold-0 In the SkyrimPrefs.ini, there appear to be plenty of options, none of which seem to make much difference. Here's what I've tried: iShadowMapResolution=4096iShadowMapResolutionInt=4096iShadowMaskQuarter=4iShadowSplitCount=4iBlurDeferredShadowMask=10fShadowDistance=2048.0000iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=4096iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096fShadowBiasScale=0.1500iEquippedTorchesCastShadows=1fInteriorShadowDistance=2500.0000 iShadowFilter=4fShadowLODStartFade=1500.0000iShadowMode=3bTreesReceiveShadows=1bDrawLandShadows=1bDrawShadows=1bActorSelfShadowing=1 Can anyone shed some light on this? The most significant option seems to be the fShadowDistance but that's such a huge trade-off between visibility range and close resolution. It sucks. Help, anyone? fShadowBiasScale=1.0000iBlurDeferredShadowMask=7fShadowDistance=4500.0000 I max everything in the launcher then set that in my skyrimprefs.ini. Play at 1920x1080 on a 37" Never messed with shadows again.
