Jacksonelhage
My ini files for New Vegas have gone missing. I had to reinstall New Vegas because I messed the game files up, so I uninstalled the game, then went into the root directory and deleted the data because when the game reinstalls the data comes back. Then I went to my documents, my games, FalloutNV and deleted the two ini files there, Fallout.ini and Fallout_Prefs.ini because they were messed up. I reinstalled my game and have run it and played a considerable amount of time since then. Yesterday I wanted to change the game's font, so naturally, I went to the Documents section to find my ini files, but they weren't there. How can I get them back? dubiousintent
Most likely they are still there, but not being shown. Make sure "hide extensions for known file types" is disabled in Windows Explorer's "Tools | Folder options | View" tab. Enable "Show hidden files, folder, and drives" in that tab as well. If the files really are gone, you need to figure out why. Otherwise, while you can have the game rebuild them by running the "FalloutNVLauncher.exe" file, there is no guarantee they won't vanish again. At a minimum, run "chkdsk" (Windows Explorer, select a Drive letter and "Properties", "Tools", and in the "Error Checking" section click on the "Check now" button). -Dubious-
