Uthuriel
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but with these changes to the .ini I get 7 fps. Help please.
andros2733
I had so many ctds (most were random but some were repeatable), so I searched and found this:http://www.creationkit.com/INI_Settings_%28Papyrus%29Skyrim.ini[Papyrus]fUpdateBudgetMS=1.2fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=1.2fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0 ;Xenon and PS3 use 2000.0iMinMemoryPageSize=128iMaxMemoryPageSize=512iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=76800bEnableLogging=0bEnableTrace=0bLoadDebugInformation=0bEnableProfiling=0 I began by doubling some values and now it looks so:[Papyrus]fUpdateBudgetMS=800fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=800fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000iMinMemoryPageSize=256iMaxMemoryPageSize=512iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=2457600bEnableLogging=0bEnableTrace=0bLoadDebugInformation=0bEnableProfiling=0 Since this values I had no CTD!(With these settings Dynavision is almost good running! (I get focus on far away things.) Hints:I use many mods with scripts running in loops:FrostfallUnread Books GlowIMCNand alsoWARSWARZONES On the side is written something with fps loss but I don't have less fps. My SystemWin 7 64-Biti5-7504 GB Ram8800 GT Please report if you have success by changing these values! THX Can I have your babies, plox? Lol, but seriously 1000+ kudos and yes, I just did a test run... of 2 hours... constantly running across Skyrim just waiting and expecting the game to crash eventually like it always did ( I have many mods and texture packages installed) and... NO CRASHES. Game feels smoother as well with less stutterring in-between cells. Amazing tweaks, you are a godsend on my Skyrim gaming enjoyment :P Thank you so much! Drax8
Hmmm, I am not finding any of these settings in my .ini, should they already be there? Or this something to add in? Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place, I went to Documents/My Games/Skyrim... is that not correct?

mamelukturbo
I'm rather intrigued (and not that surprised in today's culture of copypasting w/e someone posts on forum) how noone until time of writing this post didn't wonder about the logic and reasoning hidden behind this: firstly i ask you to look at these 2 lines containing default valuesfUpdateBudgetMS=1.2 fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=1.2 Then the OP states, I quote:I began by doubling some values and now it looks so:[Papyrus]fUpdateBudgetMS=800fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=800 Now I'm gonna keep it simple. You took 1.2 , doubled it, and came up with 800?! That's bloody well over SIX HUNDRED-fold of the original value, not double. So I humbly ask for an explanation as I have been unable to wrap my head around it. On the topic, I run 50-70 mods and similar to how 90% of the ini tweaks in fallouts and oblivion did jack all apart from possibly further destabilize already unstable game, the tweaks proposed by OP have absolutely zero impact on my game stability and/or performance. NastyDibella
nothing of that seams to work for me but i have about 260 active mods in so :D
Drax8
Yep, turns out these did nothing for me either. However I'm pretty desperate at the moment, and willing to try most anything.
Blank27
Just stumbled upon this as I began to experience stutters and went for a search to see if it was related to the 1.6. patch...This didn't fix all stuttering, but it seems to be decreased to some degree. My crashes and freezes have gone now, though. (So far at the very least. I just finished a 90+ minute session with zero issues!)I used to get load-screen freezes, random CTDs when entering load-screens, and some times when just walking about.I've got quite a few mods active. (120 ESP files, mostly armor and weapon mods or minor tweaks to say the perks and what not.)Guess the most script heavy one I have is Monster Mod? Not sure. I'm also using RCRN 3.0 on pure, no FXAA along with Claralux vanilla bright, bigger radius. My pecs areCPU - Intel 980x (6 cores, 6 threads) @ 3.33GHzRAM - 12GB DDR3GPU - XFX AMD Radeon HD 7970 (3GB) To make a long story short, this helped me, so, thank you very much! :D
352
Thank you! Changing the ini file reduced the CTDs and eliminated the lag I was having, and by using the logging functionality I was able to determine what script was causing the last few CTDs. Having a game that doesn't crash every 30 minutes is nice. Attention! Only because of a script is the last one you see in the log before CTD or freeze doesn't have to be the reason for that (tried many times)! Edit: To another post! CR04BrutePreQuestScript belongs to original Skyrim! If you will play and not test the game disable the logging options, cause this take performance and the logs can be so big that editor cannot open them! Here my values for now but not testing a lot time! [Papyrus]fUpdateBudgetMS=1000 <-- This value higher by CTDs or freezing while not at loading screens!fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=1000 <-- This value higher by CTDs or freezing while not at loading screens!fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000 <-- This value would I higher if I have crashes at loading screens (between entering new cell)!iMinMemoryPageSize=256iMaxMemoryPageSize=512iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=9830400 high value not really these are 9 MB and because of mods like Frostfall which is continuously do something I think it's ok!Many, many thanks for starting and maintaining this thread. The information here was *exactly* what I've been looking for. I've experienced a plethora (that's a lot, LOL) of CTDs and freezes always at the least opportune time. These settings have helped me minimize them and pointed me in a direction that will eventually lead, I believe, to eliminate them (or at least make their presence rarer). Kudo's to you!
