An issue with my Fallout 4 mods (possibly xbox only)

Hey guys I've released a couple of fallout 4 armor mods now and have had overall positive feedback for both of them. However a few people in the xbox comments section in both mods have complained that when in 3rd person the armor somehow glitche things like poision, blood decal, fire effect etc. I'm not entirely sure what they mean. Comments like the blood stretches out into infinity or the flames expand or being hit with a molotov crashes the game.

There have been enough of these comments to conclude there may be some kind of bug at my end but I can't re-create any of the effects in my own game. Blood seems to work fine and posion also looks ok. The flames don't look quite the same but they don't crash the game like the comments suggest. Any ideas where I should look? Is there a material setting to check or maybe something in the .niff file? Cheers.

I doubt an armor could have such effect on blood decals etc. Tbh, console users don't seem to have a lot of technical common sense when it comes to understanding how mods work, so when two events coincidentally happen together, they tend to wrongly assume a cause-and-effect relationship. I was barraged with complaints about a very specific mod conflict with one of my mods, and it turned out that only one single person had experienced a (very dubious) "glitch", but since he had "documented" this glitch in his "modding guide", all the lemmings that read about it complained to me even though they weren't experiencing any conflicts themselves, go figure.

Thats's kind of what I'm thinking. It may not be a conflict with a specific mod per say but a problem that has arisen as a result of their overall setup. In over 20000 downloads for pc and console i've maybe had half a dozen people raise this complaint. But the fact that it happened on both my mods does give me pause for thought. I just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else or if there's anything i could at least check to be sure its all fine at my end.

i'd maybe suggest asking someone who experienced the glitch to take a screenshot or video of it on their xbox if possible so you can see exactly what's happening. i feel like i've seen people report something similar in the past but i can't remember what caused it. you could also ask them to post their load orders and look for whatever graphic mods or gameplay changes these users have in common.

if you'd like, i could test it out and see if i notice any differences between the xbox and pc versions. haven't played on my xbox in a while but i don't really use any enhanced/improved graphic mods on it, so i should be able to tell if it's an issue with those users, if something got accidentally packaged in with the archives when uploading it for xbox, or maybe even hardware related pretty fast. just let me know what mod it is you want me to look at

i went ahead and tested out your fallout commando mod on my xbox and pc and wasn't able to reproduce any sort of visual glitches on either. i basically just spawned in a bunch of bugs, synths, robots, and raiders and let them attack me while wearing the outfit and full set of armor, as well as mixing the armor with clothes from other mods, and played in both first and third person looking for any sort of glitch but i didn't see anything wrong. i also placed a bunch of types of mines at my feet and shot them so they'd explode to see if that would do anything but still no problems, same thing with molotovs and various grenades.

i went ahead and posted on the mod page on beth.net and tagged the people who reported the bug just offering kinda general advice on better ways to troubleshoot and report bugs, so hopefully they'll see that and can provide more details to help narrow what's causing it and under what circumstances.

edit: very cool armor btw. i had been meaning to check it out for a while but was going to wait until next playthrough to use it since my load order is close to the plugin limit. definitely gonna keep this around though, thanks!

r the piece of mind on this and for the feedback on my mod. Much appreciated. I think it might be useful to continue speaking to the guys experiencing the bugs just to try and pin down the issue/conflict etc so that it can be resolved quickly in the future but at least I know things are fine at my end. Cheers.
