odculteln
I'm having the same problem with my last char (lvl 20). freezes every bunch of minutes and long time to save and quicksave. save file = 100mb. My other char (lvl 50) is 8mb. After noticing this I tried to make a clean save, uninstall all mods and make a brand new installation of skyrim. A this point the save file became something around 50mb. The freezes issue is still present though....I was wondering if the problem may be connected to the fact that i tried, on this character, many different gameplay and content mods, like tytanis, with new weapons, armors and spells etc.EDIT: with vanilla skyrim the file is back to 14mb, but the freezing thing is still there Edited April 23, 2012 by odculteln
serpentwave
I have just now started to experience this issue as well. I can confirm that it is relevant to the bloating of save games, at least with saves taking forever and the occurrence of lag-type freezing every 2-3 minutes. I cleaned out my scripts folder and this issue has dwindled greatly, however it still occurs randomly when loading.. Goats or Sheep. (Scratches head). One of the things that I noted was it occured after a "bad uninstall" of Realistic Natural Lighting (forgot to uninstall before deleting it via the NMM) On a side note, I am usually very keen about the load order and properly saving installing / un-installing mods effecting .pex's and other actor-related conflicts I am really curious how to resolve this.. as it just popped up out of nowhere and is annoying as hell. Zazemel
I have not tested this. However I read somewhere that if you save on a new file the game clears up a lot. You could also try waiting for 10 days. I know it's tedious, but Bethesda even suggested it. *from what I read* You could also press the "~" key then type save "name it whatever" and a new save will be made with a name. I suppose this is more useful to track saves but it should have the same effect as saving on a new file.
serpentwave
I have found the solution and cause to this (hangs head in shame): If you are experiencing this issue the first answer on the link (See below) resolved it for me :D:D:D:D:D http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/49012/will-items-dropped-on-the-ground-ever-disappear

This creates strain on both the CPU, as well as, the HDD. There is a mod that helps alleviate "loose" arrows and weapons on defeated foes including discussion on this topic linked here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/507256-posesive-corpses/page__st__410__gopid__5175013#entry5175013http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/507256-posesive-corpses/page__st__410__gopid__5175013#entry5175013pages back, as well. Actually just a damn good tool anyway, wish I could dig the link up but just google it).But if you are experiencing this save game "bloating", I highly recommend going to that thread. I think that scanner is linked 4-5 pages back, as well. Edited April 24, 2012 by serpentwave
halloikbenzander
I KNOW THE SOLUTION!!! REMOVE THE SCRIPTS FOLDER INSIDE THE DATA FOLDER THIS IMMEDIATELY FIXES THE PROBLEM! I dont know if this makes some mods not work properly but i have played for 10 minutes now and it has not lagged once and havent encountered any problems edit: THIS MADE MY SAVE FILE GO FROM 105MB TO 8MB Edited April 24, 2012 by zanderb14
SalmaGundy
REMOVE THE SCRIPTS FOLDER INSIDE THE DATA FOLDER THIS IMMEDIATELY FIXES THE PROBLEM! i guess this will kill the mods running those scripts (or at least the script elements)? out of interest do you know which mods had scripts in the folder you removed? I have 'WATER' and 'Dovahkiin Relax' placed in there just before my problems began (NOT trying to point any fingers - just curious) however since going back to my last 8MB save i have encountered no further problems with all mods still installed

I have 'WATER' and 'Dovahkiin Relax' placed in there just before my problems began (NOT trying to point any fingers - just curious) however since going back to my last 8MB save i have encountered no further problems with all mods still installed I dont know which mods where in there but I can assure you: It will not cause any problems. the mods i had installed still work the same as before and havent encountered any crashes or glitches yet Also you could try deleting 1 of the files in there at a time and start skyrim and then see if the problem is fixed so you can find out which thing in the script folder is causeing the problem Also you can try downloading a save game debloatifier this makes nirn root glows disapear and stuff which makes your save game smaller also removes bodies and ashes after 1 day orso anyway after i removed the script folder my savefile went from 105mb to 8mb. it used to take like 10 secondes to save and stuff now i have no lag at all. Also game loads much faster, Had to place steam on my HDD because my SSD had only a few GB left. This made the loading times much longer but now their faster (almost SSD like) after deleting script folder.
