Skyrim freezes for a few seconds

It seems to be fine without the scripts folder somehow! My saves are now down to 36mb

Yes but you cant use the mod that requires that scripts, example: dovahkiin relaxes too requires some scripts if you delete them you will see the mod in game but wont able te perform any action with it or uses it

Dunno if anybody is still having issues with this, but I found a solution that worked for me.

I went through NMM and uninstalled every mod I had "unchecked". I uninstalled Enhanced Blood Textures too (that seems to be one of the main causes of this). I then started my game, loaded my most recent save, created a NEW save file, then I went and deleted my most recent quicksave (which was over 100mb). After it was deleted, I created a new quicksave, and now the file size is back to normal and I'm no longer freezing.

I had the problem that was like this: During a normal gamplay at about lvl 64 the game starts to freeze for few sec and the go back to how it was before. Also saving and loading took forever and this was happening every other minute. Then i checked the save files and they had bloated up to about 100+mb's. I am runing the game with over 100 mods(i think way over 100) that are most immersion mods like Basic Needs and the like and i had few mods unchecked. The solution here above worked like a dream and i thank Evravon86 for pointing this out, this really helped me, the save file whent back to about 8kb again and the game went back to normal.

Btw. It also helped to tidy up the invetory. Lowering how much you have in the invetory also help to keep the save file size down. ppl like me that carry everything they own on them should try that also or just that first.

I've read over this topic and I see there are multiple things we can try, however the theme of "100 mods" has been running through the thread so I'd just like to mention that I play vanilla apart form the unofficial patches for Skyrim and both expansions, and Skyrim lags SEVERELY for about 20 seconds every 5 minutes.

 

My save files are around 8MB alone, however I have deactivated and re-activated the Unofficial Hearthfire Patch, since it comes with a bug of it's own which doesn't allow you to purchase a bard, and from reading the thread, I'm thinking maybe it's due to me re-activating the patch, but I'm unsure.

 

I'm level 49, and do not understand how people are so cool with starting a new save, especially if you're in the middle of stuff, and want to progress onward with the save, not to mention the worry that this lag issue is likely to just pop up again anyway.

 

I did install HW Monitor, and my maximum temperatures on both cores are 81 degrees...

 

Is this bad? There are also no fan tabs on the database either.. is this also bad

 

I know for a fact that it is Skyrim that causes this heat for me.

interesting - i wonder what the record bloat is? (not that it's a record i would be proud of having achieved...)

I've seen posts of around 120mb before getting totally unplayable

 

I would just like to say, I just deleted over 500mb of save and my game was still working mostly alright
