bored417
Actually I think Arena, Daggerfall, and Morrowind were all Third Era, and Oblivion was the first year of the 4th Era. Not entirely sure though, haven't seen actual dates, but I feel like the simulcrum was third era.

Rennn
Yeah, everything before Oblivion took place in the 3rd era I think. At the very end of Oblivion, after the Oblivion Crisis, the 4th era begins.
ita
Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion all take place in the third Era, within the lifetime of emperor Uriel Septim VII. Y'alls should bookmark UESP.
shotgun188
They decided to end the 3rd era when the Oblivion Crisis ended. It was a major event in history, when would be a better time to end a REALLY long era?
bpestilence
An era is really a dynasty. The third era started with the first Septim, Tiber, and ended with the last, Uriel VII. So all the ES games really only cover about a 300 year timeframe, a miniscule fragment of Tamrielic history.

I think I read that Arena/Daggerfall(forget which but those two games weren't far apart in TES timeline) was based 20 years before Oblivion. So, from Arena to Skyrim, it's been about 220 years. yota71
Thank you very much to all On me it will be a good idea that the Bathesda cover the ancient story of Nirn (maybe using a good subject writer :) if they want there were a lot thing to do :) )
robanybody2000
except Skyrim, all other TES are not only in fourth era but also in fifth century of it.(year 401 to 433)- so betwen Arena and Oblivion...32 years.
